High vcore on Ryzen! vcore set to auto

Well apperently my motherboard doesnt support overclocking OR downclocking because there is no option available to change cpu ratio only the vcore...
What is also weird in running stock at 3.5ghz and 3.7boost and i cant even get it below 1.32v or it will be unstable does that sound correct? Because i just cant lower it past that..
So right now it sits at usually 1.32-1.34v and sometimes reached 1.37-1.38 but quickly goes back down to the 1.34v spot but Its weird because in running stock anything lower makes my computer give black screen randomely and reboots...

Mobo is Asus prime a320m-k
Cpu is Ryzen 5 1500x stock

Hi marlon again

What make psu and power is it running ?
I will try have a look later see if can find some info out for you, had a little look last night but couldn’t see anything.

A lot off people will have the b350 or ax370 boards which you can tweak more

Its a antec VP 400watt..
But no cpu ratio overclocking settings on my board :(
I can only change vcore but at stock its at 1.4-1.47v so i went down to 1.35v 1.38v max but anything lower than 1.32v it wont be stable does that sound normal? For a stock 3.5ghz Ryzen 5 with boost enable at 3.7?

have you checked hwmonitor to make sure on vcore settings ?

a lot of people would be happy at 1.35v, what temps are you running at ?

if your system is running sweet i wouldnt worry to much

the only think i would say is get some extra fans in if your case can take it

@orbitalwalsh can you shed any sugestions as he has the ASUS Prime a320m-k board

I think i know why my vcore was So high on auto and it still is high if i lower it below 1.35v it wont be stable but i found out that my cpu had automatic OC XFR and goes up to 3.9ghz!! From 3.5ghz..
It was advetised as 3.5ghz with 3.7boost with XRF Its 3.9ghz Its the manufacturing automatic overclock feature from AMD So is that why i cant get it stable below 1.35v Its because of the XFR making my cpu go up to 3.9ghz?? All tho Its just for 1 core i think but still is it because of that?

Temps are pretty low like 33-35c idle when i gamed i Saw it in 40s but no stress test done yet

your temps are fine, 40's is fine for gaming.

leave it as is cause your system is obviously working well

just get your ram changed eventually to minimum 8gb 3000mhz and few extra fans

Well i know its fine but Its bothering me because im running stock settings and people are reporting 1.25v at stock with 1500x but no way i can get that low i cant even go below 1.32v and Its unstable the boost and XFR is enabled tho is that why?
Because with XFR it goes from 3.5ghz to 3.9ghz but xfr is a stock setting tho but i think thats why?
And people that report 1.25v have that setting disabled??
To bad i cant disabled it my motherboard had no OC settings only voltage

A320 you can't overclock , unless this has changed

from what I remember XFR is applying the high voltage to one core for a short period of time, not all cores for a long period of time

the reporting tools just see it as your total for all cores when it isn't

Yes and i just saw yesterday that XFR made the voltage reqch to 1.5v!!! I cant overclock with my mobo So this is all stock can this cause issues long term?
Or is it hitting 1.5v wil xfr not An issue?
Also i tried to lower that and i cant also i cant disabled boost and XFR with my board but is it fine tho? Kinda scared..
But theres litterly nothing i can do so that XFR wont hit 1.5v

Dont want to be anoyying or anything lol but does anyone know how i can disable XFR? I cant oc with this board i can only change the overal vcore i did that but it spikes to 1.5-1.55v a lot with the XFR is there anything i can do??
There is no OC settings on this board also i dont see any turbo boost settings either but what can i do tho?
When xfr isnt happening Its about 1.29-1.35v
But xfr does happen a lot and it reaches Max of 1.55v im not comfortable with that anything i can do?

marlon

ideally you need someone who has this board that can help, or speak with support from where you brought everything from ?

i know its fustrating, but like i said before a lot of members on here seems have a b350 board or ax370 boards

join the forum for asus and see if anyone on there can help at all

I figured it out i think i disabled core boost went back to my voltage set on auto and now im seeing 1.2-1.3max NO more 1.55 i was sering and i even left voltage on auto if i left it like it was with 0.15000 negative it would be 1.1v thats to low So i guess i figured it out :) finally!
At least i think so but it must be stable i left it on auto the vcore and only disabled boost but Its not showing that high vcore anymore So i guess im happy ;) should i still mess with the vcore tho or Just leave it on auto? Because max i see is 1.3v on 3.5ghz usually Its in the 1.25-1.27v now

leave it all good, in future if you need to default setting in bios press f5

Ok thanks sorry for all the trouble
Lol my vcore is super low now on auto i hope Its stable but it has to be Its on auto so..
All i did was change the core boost and it litterly jumped from 1.55v max to now 1.2v-1.27v max crazy ill rather have the low vcore than 300more mhz with a high vcore lol thats just me tho anyway thanks guys
