If you lost your current job would you stay in the same line of work?

Hedge - After leaving Brize I tried Avionic Instructing for a few years which was fun but far too much "office" and not enough "hands on" so now that contract's finished I'm back doing 1st/2nd Line Aircraft again only out in Saudi for the RSAF.

I considered a few other aircraft/avionics/electronics based jobs but leaving the field or doing something completely different just doesn't appeal to me.

I'd likely stay in the same sort of quality engineering role or move up to qualify management in a small firm. I could potentially move into data analytics of some kind.

So long as I don’t lose my license, yes, I’d stay HGV driving, thankfully through a worsening driver shortage, hauliers need drivers more than we need them!

I would not stay in the same line of work. I work in IT and the though of sitting at a desk for the next 30+ years fills me with dread.

If I had to find another job, I'd stick with telecoms.

As I'm early 50s with the mortgage almost paid off (late onto the property ladder) with 9 years in my current job, I'd welcome being made redundant.

Not going to happen though as I'm part on an understaffed team in a cash rich company.

I'd probably keep on being an electrician. I've considered a career change though and I don't want to be doing this into my 50s.

I intend to smash through my mortgage whilst I'm young enough and then call it a day when it's paid off and the kids have grown up. Just pick up a little job doing something relaxing to keep things ticking over.

Maybe take a lower roll actually designing stuff for cars I can't afford instead of running around with timing plans calling everyone a lazy SOB for cars I can nearly afford:)
