First McDonalds, now Butlins

Not on the dodgems at Butlins, no. It was probably some European legislation on `elf `n' safety that started all this. I can't recall any media coverage of the Queen on a dodgem at Butlins, or anywhere else for that matter, to say whether she's attempted to ride them wearing a scarf. I think she's more likely to be found riding one of her horses, side-saddle. At not a Butlins holiday camp.... :)
Forget the queen for a minute... You said immigrants should integrate "visually and spiritually" and said they shouldn't be wearing headscarves. You didn't appear to be restricting this edict to the Butlins dodgems...

Simply ban it everywhere. No place for repressive dress code it the 21st century.

Technically it's only 21st century for Christianity and Christian majority countries.

Nothing wrong with the hijab if a woman choses to do so.

Anyway, if this is official policy then one would expect to see some signs stating what is and isn't allowed on the rides. Plenty of warning signs for various things but can't recall ever seeing one for a hijab...

It's at Butlins discretion who goes on the rides,if they felt there may be a problem then they can stop who they like.
It's like people have no common sense...
If "discretion" looks like "discrimination" based on little more than race or religion then there's a problem. As said, the father claims that others with looser clothing were let on without issue, and if so, that's a problem.

If she was that arsed about going on the dodgems she could have taken it off hardly the end of the world :o

I’m not taking sides here, but expecting a Muslim woman to remove her
hijab, is like expecting a Catholic not to genuflect when entering a church.

So i can't wear a cross or a kipah walking down the street in Paris?

Maybe you’re kidding, I don’t know, but it’s only in Government
buildings in France that religious items like that are banned.

I know this but the statement poster made said in public rather than public buildings. A weird fake fact that has recently made its rounds on OCuk GD for some reasons. Was just highlighting the point.

With the high profile incidents at theme parks over the last couple of years I'm not surprised they wouldn't budge. If you were a ride attendant on minimum wage would you go against the ride rules, the fact management backed him up shows its different to the McDonald's incident which looked more like poor training.

Looser clothing that covered their heads? What hats?
