OP invest in a decent mattress. We did, it's the best thing you'll ever do for your back. That and correct your posture![]()
After having a herniated disc age 27, and going through the recovery etc, I think that the best thing you can do is regularly (ie daily) stretches for your back and legs. I found out that my hamstrings were extremely tight, and that apparently pulls on the muscles in your lower back. Once I'd managed to loosen those, my back pain reduced dramatically. It was actually weight lifting that really removed the pain for me, but I think that was likely to be due to just being a lot more mobile.
