PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

so been giving it another go and while the kills and chicken dinners are still rolling in (i'm so pro baby!) it just doesn't feel right.

I used to enjoy the hot drop and straight into a fight start to the game, that is now impossible thanks to the rubberbanding, or rather the rubberbanding that only seems to affect me in those situations. so now it's a case of drop long, fanny about for a lifetime then play the campy campy game (especially on the new map!)

I've always rubber banded for the first couple of minutes since I started playing, meaning I've never been able to hot-drop. I mid-distance drop and usually once the first 20 or so are dead it seems to get better.

Decided to have a game tonight after a bottle of vino. Within a minute of touching the ground I had level 3 helmet and vest and an M416.

Died by running myself over with a car.

Don't drink and drive kids!

You've missed out on all the run/adrenaline rush of a hot drop. Nothing like racing to get that first gun when there are a load of people nearby. That's sadly gone for me now too.

I can do that without vino, even after several hundred hours sunk into the game :(

Loving 1.0 and the new map:) Not loving the rubber banding but I am loving the fact that I've had a performance boost.

When did they upgrade to a new ut4 build? prior to patch 1.0 rubber banding was just about none existent but now...

I hear this has been optimised a great deal now. Do you think it will run on a 2.8GHz i7 ivy bridge quad core laptop with a 2GB Nvidia 650m and 8GB DDR3 RAM?

Runs at about 40-50 fps on my laptop (Dell 7559) with an i7, 960m and 8gb ram. Acceptable while away from my desktop over Christmas.

Honestly, buy it and play test yourself, people seem to have wildly different viewpoints on what's playable/acceptable. Have a few rounds then decide, you can always get a refund and wait for it to be updated further.

Finding it hard to find the sweet spot for sensitivity settings.

Mouse in on 800 DPI, playing with settings in game 45-55 seems to offer some good smoothness but I seem to have more trouble when running around getting a quick pan of the camera around me. I also find the sensitivity low when dragging items into inventory, im guessing a bit more trial and error required.

Enjoying the game so far, im usually avoiding the busy spots till i learn the mechanics a bit more and the rubber banding makes those close quarters fights at the start a bit hit and miss.

I've never liked low DPI for that reason - mouse cursor speed, as opposed to aiming speed in fps games. So I use 1600 dpi and 27 in game sens. Nice fast mouse speed for looting and low aiming speed for aiming.

With a modern mouse it's not an issue to use any dpi, it's only if you have an older mouse that they have "best" DPI steps. E.g I remember the old Deathadder 3.5G performed best at 1800 dpi.

i use 400dpi and 51 general first setting in game.that extra 1 makes the difference.the only thing with low sense is if you get surprised and have to 360 fast apart from that better than high sense and many people use to high for what they need.you should comfortably be sweeping onto targets with no over or undershooting.

The kind of stuff that REALLY ****** me off about this game are objects like banisters. 30% wood, 70% open space and it blocks EVERY single one of my shots and gets me killed. Any object that you cannot shoot through needs to be made to look solid.

They should rename this game the Kar98 simulator. That gun is far too powerful and common. At least half of the top 10 situation deaths involve a Kar98, seeing as you'd be stupid to put yourself at a disadvantage if you didn't loot a Kar98 off the people you killed. All the Kar98's get funneled down to the top 10. So you have to always play the top 10 as if every opponent has a Kar98, which sucks. In a survival game that lasts over 25-30 minutes top 10, people shouldn't be dying left and right to single shots. It's totally lame.

Lol rubber banding allows for some amusing situations. Land near a building with two other players, all three of us run in the same house and are trying to pick up the same M16. Takes about 20 seconds before someone eventually picks it up and kills us both :D

Really need to sort that out though as you have to avoid busy drops at the moment
