LA times and their all white women cover

Raccccccce war. 2018 finally bring us what we all crave.

Whites in America would probably lose by virtue of the fact that a substantial minority of whites in the country think it's 'progressive' to wish for the end of 'white' civilisation.... A rather strange self infliction not really observed in people with different cultures or melanin skin counts.

The whinging about the whinging is more annoying than either the whinging or the underlying issue.

I'm not sure anyone is whinging about the whinging, I'm just amused by it. On the other hand you ironically seem to be whinging about perceived whinging about whinging.

I read a variety of news sources

Yeah:

* right wing
* even more right wing
* extreme right wing

:D

to which you're a regular contributor of said whinging

That is the worst grammar I have seen in a very long time. Please have some respect for the greatest language on Earth. If you can't use it properly, don't use it at all.

Its an argument commonly deployed to argue for 'progressive' ideas

I. E 'its 2017 so surely its time that America had its first female president'

There an almost text book example of this weak like of reasoning in the linked article on a twitter feed....

It is almost 2018. If you're a white woman and someone asks you to pose for a group picture, for a magazine cover, with only other white women, YOU SAY NO.

Of course this is a particularly stupid line of reasoning... America is still a majority 'white' country and certain publications are likely to have an even more skewed 'white' readership then the population demographics alone would imply.

Unfortunately its considered 'progressive' (and therefore a good thing regardless of merit or other argument) to make such things 'diverse' by inclusion of an often disproportionate amount of 'people of colour' mainly on the sole basis of their skin colour.

I see..have seen it afew times and wondered.I thought it was maybe a plug-in or something my browser was missing! gonna be confusing for someone reading this thread in 20 years time :p

Playing devils advocate a bit in this circumstance... I personally can understand and somewhat, albeit it in bizzare fashion, approve of the backlash in this case....

The cover itself is a clear push towards identity politics with a group of (not very racially diverse) women apparently calling for the way stories are told to be changed (presumably to a more feminine perspective?)

Personally I like a bit of schadenfreude like in cases like this were those pushing identity politics are hoisted by their own petard........

Of course I prefer a system where commercial demand is the primary driver as to 'how stories are told'.....

You want to finance and promote your own project.... Crack on and let the public decide whether they want to pay up to view your work or not

Saoirse is a relatively common Irish name. You need to get out more ;)
Considering that I spent a fair while pronouncing Siobhan as See-Oh-Ban until I was corrected (to much joviality) I aint even going to attempt to pronounce Saoirse !

Apparently Isla is Eyela.. I swear Madonna sings La isla bonita though. And Shania ????

Do I drive a Scan-Eye-ah ?

Merry Seasonal Pagan Festival Peeps !
