Personally, just up the above to 1TB SSD and use your HDD . Rather have storage space then speed. 120/128gb nmve speeds are capped due to size compared to larger versions

Or use cash to up the gtx 1070ti or locate gtx 1080 11gbos version

no. here's an alternative spec for your budget. intel 8600K build (used the spare budget and the cost saving from not requiring a hdd)
if you want to save even more, you could try buying a grey windows 10 key off other places, its usually between £5-15, but there's no guarantee the key will be working a few months down the line (aka it may be blocked in the future)

just to confuse things even more, an alternative amd build, with a ryzen 1700
(and kryonaut @orbitalwalsh :P)

as to which one is better, a big toss-up really, each build has its advantages
for the intel build, i went with a matx size build, so smaller footprint, compared to full size atx for the amd build
the 8600k will be faster for older, unthreaded games, whereas the 1700 has 8c16t, and will be capable for quite a while yet, especially when transitioning to newer more threaded titles/progs/games
everything else is exactly the same

finally we get choice in the CPU market then makes life a pain in the arse! 1st world problems hahaha
 
no brainer when it was the intel 7 series vs ryzen -> ryzen all the way
now its 8 series vs ryzen -> each has its own advantages

seems good but do you think the Ryzen 5 Six Core 1600X might be a good middle ground from 1600 to 1700?

not worth it unless your slapping on a taichi and want best numbers and voltage - then again how much is it priced ?

Again, 1080ti isn't overkill for 4k in general but might be for some of the games you currently play​

Overclocking for CPU is done via bios, have the board can can point you to basic safe overclock .
For GPU, MSI afterburner is a solid program to use . Even if you just increase power limited to max from 100% , should see a some gains .
Bare in mind, that Black OC card has gone back to normal price we
