January Transfer Window 2017/18

Nobody told you? Liverpool are beating Barca in the final and Coutinho will be sat in the directors box and will have to watch Salah, Mane and Firmino doing their Brazilian dances around the trophy in the middle of the pitch.
I hope so. I’d like Liverpool to win it. Love their football and think Klopps a top bloke.

Mourinho on Mkhitaryan as a makeweight in Sanchez deal: "Is it possible he's going to be involved in the deal? It's possible. It's also possible he stays."

Mourinho on Sanchez: “I am not going to speak about hypothetical situation. Probably there are other clubs interested, also some other clubs are trying. He’s an Arsenal player.”

Don't think anything will be confirmed tonight.

I second this, I always wanted Klopp to suceed Arsene as manager. Don't get me wrong he isn't without his faults, but he has such passion for his job and he knows the brand of football he wants to play. Maybe Liverpool won't win many big trophies, but if I were a Liverpool fan I bet it'd be a joy to watch no matter what.

Interesting tweet from Salah's agent:

I wonder which transfer he could be referring to.

I don't think it's down to the agent, more the deal as a whole. City have lost out and are suddenly making out it's because they are thrifty and don't want ripping off. They have money to burn so that doesn't wash with me, their meteoric rise is purely down to aggressive spending. I do believe they have been shafted to a degree though as the deal was probably agreed back in the summer.

To be fair, even from before City pulled out we had journo's from Arsenal's end reporting that the decision would hinge on money. Jeremy Wilson and John Cross wouldn't be getting briefed by City.

And I'm not sure it's a case of City trying to put out the idea that they don't want to be ripped off, they're just making it clear that they weren't willing to pay that sort of money for him - if they were then they would have after all because if anybody can afford to it's them. It's fairly logical too - whichever way you want to spin this, Sanchez has gone from being expensive to ****ing expensive and do City, with the attacking talent they have, need Sanchez that much? Probably not and it's perfectly reasonable to think that they've sat down and decided at these sorts of numbers that they could improve the squad better elsewhere. I'm not sure Utd need him desperately enough at these sorts of numbers either but they certainly need him more than City.

Yes, money is a critical factor without a doubt.

Balague is getting absolutely slaughtered on Twitter, you can tell he's fuming (worships Pep). :p

Balague always gets slaughtered. Deadline day of the summer transfer window he tweeted that Liverpool were never interested in Lemar, seemingly completely forgetting that he tweeted 2 days prior that Liverpool were after him :D

Interesting to see all the interest in Lemar fade this window btw. Arsenal were well in for him last summer when Sanchez looked like leaving then, we obviously bid and there were rumours that Utd were interested too. Monaco have put out a few messages suggesting that it's possible he could leave but seemingly nobody is interested any more, at least at the sort of fee Monaco want.

Meh, who actually cares. If Emre Can signs a new deal ill post a naked selfie.

Ok, two points on this.
  1. If you don't then I'm permabanning you.
  2. If you don't leave your hat on I'm also permabanning you.
There's been a few whispers that he's still possibly going to stay despite the speculation that he's off to Juve and a few quotes have come out tonight where he's said he's still in talks with the club over a new deal.

I change my mind about Can daily. He could be excellent, all the materials are there but his decision making lets him down. You see games where he doesn't look at the races and then you have games like yesterday, against the best side in the league and he puts in a motm display. One thing, which Neville has said a few times on Sky, his mentality is outstanding - he never goes missing and is always a player that looks to drag the team forward when we're not quite at it.

If he didn't have the turning circle of a double decker and improved his decision making he could be an excellent midfielder.

If Sanchez goes to Man U that's his career over at 29.

He'll never win anything going to a second fiddle Manchester club.

Man City is the only Manchester team that's going to win medals in the foreseeable future.

He must feel totally gutted not getting his chance with Pep at City.

The bitterness is amazing :D

Apparently he has agreed terms, now it’s a case of Mikhi agreeing terms with arsenal.

I think Mourinho is the biggest **** in football but I'd walk to Manchester with the biggest smile on my face if they gave me a £400k per week contract. I'm sure he'll cope.

At the end of the day City just don't need Sanchez. The wages that are being discussed would mean someone on the bench is getting more than the first team. Why mess with that when so close to winning the title.

They could probably get a better, younger player in the summer without disturbing the flow of the team.

If he wants medals and money he should go to City in summer. If he wants to play and get money with a cup win here or there then either stay at Arsenal or go to united. He wouldn't win anything major at either though any time soon.
