GPU prices go boom

This whole price mess is a culmination of supply and demand, nothing more. Pretty sure that ATI/Nvidia board partners know that they cannot charge over £800 for a high end GPU as even the most hardcore gamers will tell them to go swivel as I have done.

GPU mining becoming unprofitable is a fact and not an opinion. Both algorithms worth mining (its actually just eth and everything else depends on it) have announced that they will be moving away from gpu mining and no new promising ASIC-resistant coin is on the horizon. Don't let some deluded miners fool you, everybody in the crypto world recognises mining as a waste of resources that needs to be phased out.

I didn't know Monero wasn't promising.

if you already have a gpu, i would say keep your money, if crypto mining is done for now, nvidia would need to release their new line up, probably early Q2

The nVidia event isn't until March the 19th so i doubt we'll be able to order any cards until end of March with April being the delivery date.

Plus the XP will most likely be better than whatever is coming in March, it'll be Q3 or Q4 when we see a better card than the Titan XP i think.

Literally this last few days that it has become LESS profitable. Who knows how long it will last. :)

Do you have the lottery numbers for this weekend as well?

Someone will say that ETH is going away from PoW to PoS and it will kill GPU mining. ETHs task to move from PoW will not be completed for a few years yet, making mining profitable for some time to come. Casper V1 is a PoW/PoS hybrid.

The biggest shock is the ETH is not the only crypto that can be mined for decent profits. Can you believe that? These doom and gloom posts are just wishful thinkers, for the moment anyway.

Hopefully, after CNY, production of GPUs will ramp and get volumes back in the shops so everyone can start purchasing again.

yes but Nvidia might up the entry to mid range graphics to counter AMD and INTEL APUs and by extension high end, ,having APUs reaching 1060 level of perf is bad for business, the obvious move would be to drop 1060 to 2050, beside Nvidia seem to be ok with releasing a new titan every 6 months, even less if they want to, fans doens't seem to care.

i hope you got these at msrp price, or if it's a retailer don't you have 14 days to return them for a refund ?
