Yeah,I think it would make more sense for them to target 1080p 60FPS if possible like the PS4 PRO can - 4K is only really doable with games due to dynamic resolution scaling,etc and the fact you tend to be not so close to a TV screen,so they can cut down on effects.

However,I prefer the keyboard and mouse anyway. As I mentioned previously,I hope the GTX2060 can actually have good performance bump,as the sub £300 arena is rather meh ATM.

Basically in the 4+ years since the R9 290 was launched and the 3 years+ since the GTX970 was launched,we have only seen a 20% to 25% bump in performance in the fastest sub £300 cards.

Since I just upgraded to a 1080Ti I will wait until the xx80Ti.

I think the 80 Ti cards are the best all round GPUs in any NVidia architecture and it is a good move to go from 80 Ti to 80 Ti.

The downside is NVidia know this and the 80 Ti is one of the last cards in the range to be released.

That is Titan V territory so the XX80 is likely to be about 10% faster than a Titan Xp.

I also suspect the XX80 will likely come with 8gb of GDDR6 making it an unattractive and pointless upgrade from a Titan Xp.

IMO that's a big downside too, probably buying into the generation halfway or more through it's lifespan.
I personally like to get in on the new gen ASAP. I may skip next gen as not gaming much ATM and two 1070 Ti's are proving pretty good with decent support for Sli, but if I did, it would likely be the Titan again to get the best balance of performance and access to the new tech early. If DX12 performance is much better that would be quite appealing, something that has been lacking although don't read much of that these days?

Will be tempted by a 2080, though my 1080 doesn't really have any issues on a gsync 1440p screen be nice to see nearer 144 fps rather than 100.

There's no indication it's going to be another milestone, agreed. It's just something new for most of us guys at this point. These cards have had their time at the top.
