I'll be standing out in the freezing rain throwing stones at the window professing my love to her as the local number 47 drives by a huge puddle and soaks me, she'll then come out and give me a hug and a kiss in the rain and we'll go inside and have a warm hot chocolate.

Literally never been on that, only use Reddit for Factorio and Overwatch. I've understood how status/value works for about 10 years from reading basic PUA stuff and actually experiencing these things first hand. I've been in a long term relationship for about 6 years now though.

It's really not rocket science, it's just basic female psychology, it's as easy as understanding what men find attractive in women. It's not complicated and what one man finds attractive is basically the same for all men with some slight variation. Same with women.

Yes, myself and the wife both hate it. Why do we need a retail driven day to show our love for each other? We know how we feel about each other and show it all the time. We have been together for 17 years now and are more in love than ever.

Conversely, my wife and I enjoy celebrating it. We don't go over the top and it's usually just a small gift with a special home-cooked meal and a movie. Not everyone is the same :)

As others have said we both see it as overpriced nonsense although we are going to see shape of water today and I booked tickets without realising the date :p
