Car Lease Companies in the West Midlands

Just to counter - this just popped up in my inbox 5 minutes ago - cancelled order - march delivery (So I appreciate it may not suit you but just using as an example)

Audi A4 Saloon Black Edition - 1.4 TFSI S Tronic auto in Brilliant Black with Extended LED Interior Light Pack & 18" Gloss Black Alloys

6 +23 - 8k mileage - £260 a month. So £7,540 over 2 years. Now for me that is WAY better a car than a Fiesta Titanium X.

Yea that's a fair example - same cost over two years and a great spec. OK, thanks for the advice gents. Guess I'll sign myself up to a few mailing lists and see if anything crops up.

EDIT: Could you post a link to that deal?

no link as it's a one off deal via email for a single cancelled order. But it was via Stable Vehicle contracts.

Thanks all for your contributions. I've been reading all replies and think it's great other prospective leasers have become involved and that current lease customers are sharing their experiences. I've learned loads about this, so thank you.

Whats the deal you have? I personally have gone for 24 month leases in the past and look to put down a fair deposit to control the monthlies. As long as I know the overall cost is OK then I am happy.

There was a general rule of thumb in the PH thread I posted earlier.
Calculate the total cost of the lease and divide by OTR price.
<15% = Stonker of a deal bite the hand off
15-20% = Great deal go for it
20-25% = Good deal, do it if it feels right
25%-30% = About normal - not too great
30%+ = Expensive

Now thats a general rule of thumb and varies according to the car and what discounts may be on offer so don't take it as gospel.

To give you an idea:
  1. Golf = OTR £24k. Total Lease = £4800. 4800/24000 = 20%
  2. Karoq = OTR £25500. Total Lease = £5242. 5242/25500 = 20.5%
  3. XF = OTR £40k. Total Lease = £6240. 6240/40000 = 15.6%
And so on. HTH

I see where you're coming from re percentages. Although, for the cars I'm looking at, they're 40%+. I'm aware if I increase the RRP of the vehicle I lease, then that %age comes down, but to me, that kind of defeats the purpose, when I'm looking for a run of the mill, fairly common, entry level SUV. Or am I looking in the wrong places?

Cheers again.

At those sort of percentages, it's probably worth looking at whether 'buying' something on pcp through a broker like broadspeed is more cost effective

Depends when you need it. If you can bide your time and don't mind waiting for a factory order, there are bargains to be had. The karoq I have ordered is a medium sized suv with decent kit at not too much price wise. I'm sure the Seat Ateca (basically the same thing) was a similar price not too long ago.
