[H]ardOCP: GeForce Partner Program Impacts Consumer Choice

So you missed the part about KB doing his own investigation for 3 weeks after not relying on AMDs information, and that no ODM or OEM employees would talk on record, only off?

Of course you didn't. Get thee gone, Focus Group Shill.

Yes totally, we are everywhere and you should all be wearing tin foil hats to block out our signals. /s

I think an umbrella to block the BS would be more handy. No need for tinfoil, you are far more tiresome than insidious and mind bending.

Ignoring the actual issue it is unlikely any employee would speak on the record about such a thing, as doing so without prior approval from the relevant management would result in disciplinary or termination (of employment). In any market businesses are very tight lipped about any such issues and rely on PR departments providing the "corporate message" after days/weeks of legal review.

Ultimately crap for the consumer but that is just how large corporates work now. Everyone immediately reads through the message and more often than not the truth will come out, causing more damage than if they had just been honest from the get go..

Well if the prediction of performance in the opening article is correct it wont be long before AMD don't produce gaming cards anyway, (well nothing above midrange anyway ;))

NVidia-2000-series.jpg

So Vega AMD's best could be up against the new 2060 for however long it takes AMD to bring out something faster, which after Vega it could be many months before we see anything further from AMD. :(
Which of course makes the whole gaming partnership programme irrelevant.

Oh, well that's ok then, go ahead nVidia AMD are going to find it harder to compete anyway so might as well just make it impossible for them to compete in the future.

This is so short sighted it beggars belief that's anyone with an iq over 86 can say something like this with a straight face.

Those figures are total fantasy land.

We can look forward to even more competitive prices from Nvidia too when AMD can't compete. Good times.

Added the RRP pricing we can expect in Nvidia's market-dominating lockdown.

No, things are not black and white. You have to choose what you are comfortable with. For example, if you want to own a smartphone whilst not exploiting underpaid, overworked workers in the far east, you're basically out of luck. If you're not bothered with that, you're fine. In the PC market there is precious little competition, but in some areas it is there. No corporation is squeaky clean but people willingly choose to support pseudo-monopolies, sadly.

If you are in the market to buy hardware then you really have no choice than to buy from one Corp or another but that shouldn't mean anyone attempting to condone these shady practices or divert blame by claiming lack of competition caused it.

That's amongst some of the most ludicrous statements I've read on this thread, and it's more than one person saying it.

When a company, regardless of who they are, pulls a stunt like this, everyone should be ******, no matter which vendor you support. The end result of GPP will be higher prices, no question about it.

Hence the frown face, it isn't my fault AMD are having trouble making competitive cards and I didn't write the article in the opening post, but please do carry on and call me stupid again.

AMD's current inability to compete is a whole'nother argument and that fact does not "makes the whole gaming partnership programme irrelevant." it really doesn't, if anything it makes it more relevant.

I didn't call you stupid, just astonished that someone clearly not stupid can make an assessment like that.

Edited for clarity.

Nvidia could Nuke the whole UK and all the Nvidia supporters that survived would say but it was down to AMD :D:D:D:D:D. It seems to be the go to line these days that Nvidia do what they do because of AMD. No Nvidia do what they do because they want too.
