If he has a pico then I assume the case is small, so get a cheap case with atx psu support and buy a cx450w the grey label or find a used unit plus a case for the price of just the cx450.

Actually, the pico PSU might just do. How pico is it? If it can do 200W you'll be fine with a 750 Ti or similar.

Yeah I was gonna say the above - get a GT1030. Should hopefully run on the Pico PSU (what wattage is it?) and same as the old GTX750 which is still decent for Fortnite etc...and several times over faster than the iGPU of the i3-6100.

If the Pico PSU is anything around 200w even a GTX1050 would be fine.

The pico is only 160watt so no good for the job.

why do you have a pico if you have that cube case?. anyways put the pico in to storage and get a decent atx power supply, the superflower 350w will do

Well the case was £20 new so couldn't turn it down and pico use was for htpc using igpu so was never a need for a proper psu. But i will be buying him a new psu very soon.

that is fine for an i3 + GT1030.

You'd probably even get away with a GTX1050.

My kids are running it fine on G3258 + 750Ti's @ 1280x720 60FPS. So should be fine with a cheap GPU upgrade.

Gt1030 should fit the job low power draw cheap and should run the game nicely. You won't have to worry about overworking the PSU with it.

Thanks guys for all the info. i think i best replace his pico psu with a proper psu just to be on the safe side and then once i have done that i will get back to you all about the video card.
