Alicia Vikander, like you say is certianly the best part of the film, & I think she will be a good Lara Croft.

It’s not bad, it’s not great, it’s passable. The bar for adaptations of video games is so low it makes this one of the better if not the best ones.

But then again I think I enjoyed this as much as Black Panther, I think that movie when judged of merits, it’s overrated.

Very true, as I said I think I was hoping for more rather then expecting.

As others have said, it's good, but not great. For an action movie, there's not really a lot of action in it, but what it does have, it is done well (if you exclude the poor CGI).

It seems to be caught between times as well - a modern, humanised heroine who falls at every hurdle, yet gets back up and tries again to succeed, whereas the sequences in the tomb reminded me of old school Indiana Jones.

It's nowhere near as dark, violent or gory as the reboot games though - I guess they needed to keep it light for the 12A rating (even though the games are 18 rated).

It's good but not anything special, it hasn't got that cheesy feel the AJ ones have and it's not dark enough to marry up to the reboot games, Was surprised they've gone for a 12A rating considering the games arent.

Two things annoyed me, one they love a quick cut in this and the 'fight scenes' at the end were nearly as bad as Taken with the amount of cuts and second it felt like they'd dubbed in the video game sound effects every time she did something. Way too many moans and groans purely from movement imo.

I enjoyed it. It was nothing groundbreaking but it was a couple of hours of switch off fun. And Alicia Vikander is very cute.
