Nvidia Ampere might launch as GeForce GTX 2070 and 2080 on April 12th

Maximum orders per person. A firm I work with occasional wanted a load and had to buy from several shops.
The retailers should block miners looking to buy graphics cards in bulk only sale one/two this is what pushing the GPU prices up in the first place just for greed, it's very unfair to gamers, also It should be one GPU per customer max to balance it out

They wanted those cards for passing off the GPU to VM's.

 money is money. They are a business. 'feelings' should not come into their stratagem.

The other thread points to a rather dissapointing vega 64x, let’s hope it’s cheap :(

Edit : cached version as it was taken down, perhaps at the behest of AMD?

a bit dissapointing, its basically going toe to toe with the GTX 1080 if it is accurate.

i suppose it all comes down to price if it will sell, but for an as of yet unreleased top end card which is only matching a not even top end card, which is soon to be end of life, it does not bode well for forcing nvidia at the sharp end to push the boat out.

Retailers are there to make money, no?

You get a trust message/email or PM. I can give you the contact details. I'm sure you'd fit right in...
If you can put in a good word for me, that would be awesome. Just... don't mention the AMD GPU in my PC.

Can't wait to start my new life as an nVidia shill. Gonna be so sweeeeet.

Can the mods delete the roughly 25% of my posts here which have been critical of nV, please? Would hate to miss out on a leather jacket over some nonsense that happened in the past (couple days).

There's not going to be a 2080Ti - NVIDIA will release a 2080 and that will be it. AMD have no answer to the 1080ti, no will have no hope in hell of competing with a 2080.

I imagine 2080 will be 20-30% faster than a 1080ti and that will be it - this will be the new norm, boring upgrades that none apart from the obsessed will care about.

There isn't going to be a 2080, because 20 doesn't come after 10.

You mean a 1180 after the 10 series cards and only 20-30% increase from 1080 ti not worth the wait IMO

Retailers are there to make money, no?
True but there is no need just for greed it's like grave robbing IMO

There's going to be a 12 series? Has NVIDIA carried this model brand through half a decade?

GeForce to 4, then FX... Then 6 - 9 series...

The 100 - 900 series seems to have been the longest but no 800?

nVidia doesn't name their cards by a mathematical equation or formula.

It looks like it is going to be the 11 series, but that was by no means guaranteed.

As already pointed out, naming schemes have changed in the past, and they will - no doubt - change again.

The next time they do change, if you're still saying "it has to increase by 1 each gen - it just has to", well, at that point you'll be wrong :p

They might even just decide to refresh the whole naming/numbering scheme altogether almost arbitrarily anyhow.

I disagree, based on nothing but conjecture :D

I think we’ll see a 1180 a little faster than the ti, maybe 15%. Ti to follow about 9 months later, with exceptional performance.

I also think we’ll see a new Titan :)
