I don't believe it ever has been.I thought it was a straight red putting the ball in with a deliberate hand ball, was a few years ago I'm sure of it.

one is stopping a goal therefore if it was only a yellow more players would exploit it other goal won't count and yellow so it's balanced

You do realise your post makes absolutely no sense? By only giving a yellow for trying to score with a handball aren't you encouraging more players to try to do that too? The crimes are exactly the same yet the punishments are completely different.
This is a general point btw, not the incident today because that was ball to hand, wasn't it?
