[H]ardOCP: GeForce Partner Program Impacts Consumer Choice

Net result of this will be even more poorer value cards, and less performance upgrade per 'generation', not that there are 'generations' any more really, just minor upgrades for nearly a grand a pop.

This thread needs some of this.

Because the saltiness is almost unbelievable, yes the GPP sucks yes it is anti competitive, but when the complaints are it's horrid, its horrid, its horrid, so I went and bought a 1080ti.
Then we only have ourselves to blame.

/end rant. :)

Sleazy..

I wanted to personally thank all of our resellers who are attending our AMD sales event in London this week, it was a pleasure catching up with you and thank you for your support. Many of you told me how our competition tries to use funding and allocation to restrict or block

I hope nVidia end up in some very hot water over this an end up having to pay AMD a billion or 18.

Poor poor AMD, always needs money throwing its way in order to survive ;)

If you're suggesting they should behave more like nVidia to do better i agree, they should cancel the PCIe interface IP they license to nVidia so they no longer have an X86_64 Interface, that would really #### them up, just about every area nVidia operate in they need that X86_64 / AMD64 interface, if AMD took it away from them it would kill nVidia, stone dead, virtually over night.

And the rest of us.

Again I'm sorry to say that it doesn't matter if AMD cant provide a compelling alternative, they still to this day dont have a product that can match or beat a 1080Ti. Dont blame the customers for going for one if thats the only card at the performance point.
I'm sorry but AMD are not BIG enough any more to put the needed talent and money into R&D for both CPU's and GPU's, I would rather that Intel or another company big enough buy whats left of ATI's tech and make a true competitor to Nvidia.

I truly believe that we have a very high chance of never seeing AMD match Nvidia any more, they are running away with the show now. This program is showing how bold Nvidia feels now about the position they have!

I wouldn't be so sure. They have shown how they are able to catch up to intel while even providing a better product in some areas. Now some of the leads of their Zen team that made it possible are moving to RTG to duplicate the success. They got a lot of experience from working on Zen and not just hardware wise but also in regards to game developer relations. I think it's finally dawned on them that they need to be in constant touch with these people to get the most out of their(AMDs) product so it can properly shine. On top of all this i also believe there are many in the industry who are just plain tired of nVidia's shenanigans.

You're missing Bru's point. He's saying people come on here and moan constantly about how overpriced a 1080ti is, then go & buy one anyway. I don't care how much I would enjoy the performance of a card - if I feel it's over priced for what it offers, I'm not going to buy it. I'm certainly not going to moan about it on a public forum, and then buy one anyway.

I bought my 1080ti when I felt they were good value for money. I wouldn't buy one now at the prices they are currently at.

That's what people thought about AMD in the cpu world. Look how that turned out.
