I'm shocked that so many think the words of somebody like that who works with dying children should just be ignored.
Alcohol isn't an excuse, if someone says a sentence like that, it's a reflection of their thought processes.
Report it to their employer. Actions have consequences. Being British and drunk isn't the carte blanche most people think it is.
Doormen put up with some seriously crap treatment, it's completely unjustified in most cases. Hats off to you guys, honestly.
This guy knows how to fling a fist
I've actually emailed the hospice with as much info as I have, I wouldn't normally of bothered and don't expect anything to come of it but felt it needed reporting.
When they start going down the "I bet your wife's at home getting plowed by the whole street", I usually tell them I'm gay and do they really want to make the abuse illegal by being a homophobic public order incident! And never, ever give anyone amunition to use against you. Never mention your children, or anything about your personal life to the punters. They're not your friends...
Seriously? People would take time out of their their day to report this person? How empty and pathetic are your lives? This woman was drunk, she was being provocative and bothersome because she was drunk. Let it go, move on with your lives and stop being offended over nothing. She won’t remember it the next day and it’s not worth causing her issues.
You’ve accepted a job where you’re meant to be objective and sensible. Yet you’re being emotional and frankly pathetic.
The mind boggles.
Yet you’re being emotional and frankly pathetic.
Your post is frankly pathetic. Being drunk is no excuse. Ever.
So it's acceptable because she was drunk? Sorry, but that's a crap attitude.
No, I didn't say it was acceptable because she was drunk. But, I'm advocating a bit of balance and common sense. What does the OP, and the militants, want to achieve? Should this woman loose her job? Should she be fined? Arrested? Sued? She said something, when she was drunk. It was in poor taste, but let's look at it objectively. She's had too much to drunk, it's the end of the night. She needs to go home. She's not going to remember it tomorrow, it's not a judgement on her ability to do her job (and even if it was, a bouncer isn't in a position to comment on such a thing) and ultimately it's no more offensive than someone calling the bouncer ugly (or whatever nonoffensive insult you decide upon).
The only person who should be in danger of being sacked is this bouncer - if they can't handle such a throwaway comment then their SIA badge needs to be removed. I worry about his ability to handle a stressful situation...
Knickers are firmly in a twist in this thread.
