Absolutely disgusting thing said to me tonight...

I'm shocked that so many think the words of somebody like that who works with dying children should just be ignored.

On the other hand I suppose you could look at it as a person venting (in an unhealthyway true) the rather grim pressures of thier job?

Ok given the environment is it possible the person said "I hope your child never needs our services"?

One word missed changes it dramatically from a minor ****** off thing to a major ****** off thing

Alcohol isn't an excuse, if someone says a sentence like that, it's a reflection of their thought processes.

Report it to their employer. Actions have consequences. Being British and drunk isn't the carte blanche most people think it is.

This.

The remark made from the charity worker against the OP is a bit too personal imo. I would definitely shop the worker. Given the OP doesn't have a name for the individual, I would provide a description of the person intsead.

@Tefal I'm very clear about what was said and have at least one witness who can verify it.

Two of her Co workers overheard her comment, one was mortified the other defensive of her friend.

I've actually emailed the hospice with as much info as I have, I wouldn't normally of bothered and don't expect anything to come of it but felt it needed reporting.

Am friendly with the doorman at my local pub and the crap some drunk people give him makes me want to punch them..:p

I would love to video tape some these idiots and then post it on there facebook page.:D:p:D..(But am guessing I could get done for doing that)

Doormen put up with some seriously crap treatment, it's completely unjustified in most cases. Hats off to you guys, honestly.

This guy knows how to fling a fist

Assuming it lands in the hands of the the right person, I would imagine some sort of internal reminder about behaviour will be made and the individual concerned will get nervous about any fallout and at the very least be more mindful of what they say in future.

Many organisations have staff photos online nowadays, you could have a poke around to see if you recognise her if available e.g: http://www.zoes-place.org.uk/liverpool/hospice/our_team.aspx

(For the avoidance of doubt, this was just a random Liverpool children's hospice I found online, I am not insinuating anyone from this organisation was involved as Vidar hasn't disclosed which hospice it was).

And never, ever give anyone amunition to use against you. Never mention your children, or anything about your personal life to the punters. They're not your friends...
When they start going down the "I bet your wife's at home getting plowed by the whole street", I usually tell them I'm gay and do they really want to make the abuse illegal by being a homophobic public order incident!

Seriously? People would take time out of their their day to report this person? How empty and pathetic are your lives? This woman was drunk, she was being provocative and bothersome because she was drunk. Let it go, move on with your lives and stop being offended over nothing. She won’t remember it the next day and it’s not worth causing her issues.

You’ve accepted a job where you’re meant to be objective and sensible. Yet you’re being emotional and frankly pathetic.
The mind boggles.

So it's acceptable because she was drunk? Sorry, but that's a crap attitude.

Your post is frankly pathetic. Being drunk is no excuse. Ever.

No, I didn't say it was acceptable because she was drunk. But, I'm advocating a bit of balance and common sense. What does the OP, and the militants, want to achieve? Should this woman loose her job? Should she be fined? Arrested? Sued? She said something, when she was drunk. It was in poor taste, but let's look at it objectively. She's had too much to drunk, it's the end of the night. She needs to go home. She's not going to remember it tomorrow, it's not a judgement on her ability to do her job (and even if it was, a bouncer isn't in a position to comment on such a thing) and ultimately it's no more offensive than someone calling the bouncer ugly (or whatever nonoffensive insult you decide upon).

The only person who should be in danger of being sacked is this bouncer - if they can't handle such a throwaway comment then their SIA badge needs to be removed. I worry about his ability to handle a stressful situation...

it is the internet and the most servere punishment must be obtained.its standard.to the op she said a stupid thing drunk move on.most on here are watching big bang theory and just want you to explode.just ignore forget it.

She was identified as a member of staff at a children's hospice, I'm sure the hospice would be chuffed to bits that their staff behaved like that on a night out. Ah, it's alright she's got a drink inside her...

Do you believe the stuff you're typing here?

If you can't handle your drink to the point that you spew vile hatred towards other people. Dont drink as much. And certainly don't pull your workplace into it.
