Sorry but how on earth are you managing to bring Brexit into a thread about a royal wedding? I realise it is a devisive issue but...

Don't see what is wrong with being a bit patriotism either, this sort of event is great for spinning some positive PR for the UK and this couple are going to be great for that all important soft power in coming years.

And as for Ireland and Germany, they don't have any royals and no one gives a **** if say their President or Chancellor's kids or grand kids get married. In terms of events like this we're better than anyone.
 
Watched it on TV here in Germany (on all morning on the 2nd national channel). I thought it was great seeing such a diverse mix of people and traditions, the gospel choir and the preacher with the stuffy British formal stuff.

Seemed like a bunch of different people just all getting along and having a good time and being happy.

Wouldn't be truly British without all the whinging and moaning though eh.....

Royal wedding ? Who cares?. I don't know them, they don't know me. It's just a wedding, nothing to get excited about.

Why should I? Off the top of your head can you honestly say you can name the kids of either leaders from those countries? Bet you can't... yet you know who Prince Charles, Prince Andrew etc.. are.

I was watching a documentary about North Korea last night on National Geographic. People in western democracies don't realise how good they have it, very little human rights abuses and political corruption compared to the rest of the world, yet we're tearing ourselves apart from the inside. Nationalism isn't bad, it just depends which qualities you admire about Nationalism.
