Visa flopping ffs

This makes me laugh, the system goes down and people claim they wouldn't be able to eat or some other life changing thing if they couldn't get payments to go through.

Bugger off, utter stupidity. I'm sure you can last a day without making any transactions with some plastic. I'm sure you're able to get to a flippin bank and get some cash out. Grow up.

Alright, calm down sweetheart, it was clearly a comment made in jest.

Didn't quite a few TSB customers say that recently? #troll

Had to leave the beers behind and only buy food at the shop as that was all the cash I had on me :( checkout man didn't seem too keen on my plan to try all of the cards to see if one worked.

I'm old enough to remember when the only way to pay for most things was cash and the only way to get cash was to go into a bank between 09:30 and 15:30 monday to friday only (unless it was a bank holiday, when the banks would be closed) or keep it from your wage packet (which was a literal packet with cash in it).

Eh, when I were a lad.

This is excellent news. The less transactions being processed through visa the better it is for the world's economy.

1 in every 3 pounds transacted in the UK is done through Visa's extremely expensive and extortionate systems. They just syphon over 1% of all money ever transacted under the guise of providing a service which allows people to be dumber lol. It's extrortion plain and simple.

That sounds....horrendous. Christ. :p

Apple Pay all the way. Just so convenient :D

Re read my comment, I was aiming it at people who genuinely post tripe on social media saying they couldn't survive without it or some other ****. Not that particular comment.

Grinds my gears is all, sweetheart.

That'll be why my Visa had a paddy in Tesco then

Contactless,nope. Chip n pin, nope.

Swear at machine. Contactless, yep.

If that's the kind of thing you need to get angry at then I need your life :(

Can’t actually wait for the day they phase physical money out completely. But things like this happening concern me somewhat.

Yeah phaseout of cash will certainly happen because when the impending economic collapse occurs they will not want people queueing up outside banks trying to withdraw their money. Anyone remember Greece? That was a test phase and it's been established that cash needs to be wiped out before a worldwide collapse in order to protect banks.

Same here although I missed out on a physical envelope with cash by a few short years. Now I regularly buy a bottle of beer in the sun, on a boat while traveling home floating on the Thames... with nothing more that my phone. Younger people may not find that amazing but it makes me smile every time.

It was more of a tongue in cheek joke said in a bit of jest. Nobody cares you are a bore and turn everything bitterly serious little man.

You need to grow up if anything and get a sense of humour while you are at it.

And the Americans. Don't forget the Americans.

OOOOH MYYYYY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWDDD!

True... "Are you Awssstraalieeennn????"... Sigh.

For the love of god, re read as I said to Diddums, I'm using your post as an example, it's clearly in jest I'm just venting as I've seen all over social media how this outage has caused people some utterly dramatic heartaches.

And no, I will not get a sense of humour. I prefer to be a miserable sod.

Fair enough. But I can't say I find myself getting angry at people who write things like that. They're morons if they are acting like it's the end of the world when it's a minor inconvenience/annoyance at best.

Edit: If anything the only people who really will have a problem with it is all the workers who have to put up with people complaining.
