*** Nintendo Switch ***

Is it just me who thinks Sakurai looks like Michael Jackson? :)
I'm watching him now on the treehouse half expecting him to get up and moonwalk across the show floor.

Smash content was great. The rest was a bit meh for me. Mostly 3rd party stuff too. Aside from Mario Party announcing.

Kinda hope they'll do a further direct with more first party stuff in August/Sept

Well nothing was announced today that's coming out soon which I'm interested in. Time to order Octopath Traveler :)

That's been their plan since the launch of the Switch, but they made an exception for MP4 due to the fan demand.

Also, buy Hollow Knight you heathen! :p

So what time is Fortnite up on the eShop?

I am playing it now. Just get it from the US eShop.

Edit: If you would rather wait instead of taking 5 seconds to log onto the US account it's live at 2300.

Bayonetta 3, new pokemon, Metroid Prime 4? They could easily have given us something to get excited about beyond smash. Either they haven't got anything or they are in such an early stage of development that it would be more of the "heres a picture or very very short promo clip for the game".

No motion control for Fortnite is a shame :(, but the game will be will supported over time so who knows, Epic made significant improvements to the other console version post-release.

Fairly tame presentation but

* Smash looks great, some significant iteration towards more competitive play. Good to see all characters back and Ridley being added (most requested character by fans).
* Daemon X Machina was a surprise to me, a lot of potential and right up my street
* Fire Emblem Three Houses reveal was a fairly big deal, not something I'm super into but I did like Awakening
* Glad to see the XC2 expansion is releasing early and it looks great

Boo no Metroid. Grabbed Fortnite and Hollow Knight though. Watched some Smash on the Treehouse looks fun but not sure if it's my kind of thing as I only play solo. 4 player I can barely see what's going on!

Fire Emblem looks incredible.

I'm feeling like Nintendo's 2018/2019 release list is a bit all over the place though. Lots of multiplayer/co-op focussed stuff this year, then Fire Emblem, Pokémon, and maybe Metroid and/or Starfox next year?

2017 was always going to be a hard act to follow. But 2018 is looking somewhat disappointing. The only definite purchase for me is Smash.

I am intrigued by that Fire Emblem footage. Looks interesting. Otherwise I am slightly disappointed by it a little. I knew it would be Smash focused but I want more dammit! :)

Hollow Knight though been waiting for that for ages. Chuffed with that.

Paladins is ruined by having no motion control too.

Smash will be rubbish online and single player, but it's one of the best local multiplayer games out there.
