Arrived in Rome and temperatures not too bad, for the first time abroad ever I have really good mobile internet that's fast and doesn't feel like dial up, a true first for O2 well done them! 5 mins walk from Cipro metro not sure what we'll do tonight . Hotel seems dodgy

We're using our credit card but places are not showing an option to choose the currency rate ? We are using the Halifax Clarity CC, is this normal in italy as we want to be exchange rate

I have a Halifax Clarity Card, and to the best of my recall, and I won’t swear to this, but I seem to remember that it was only high end fashion or department stores in any country that gave me the option to be billed in local currency or Sterling, on the assumption that that is what you mean.
I think that the last time I was in Italy, I was still using a Santander Debit Card, before I got the Clarity Card.

do you normally get asked in the UK what currency you want to pay in?

you pay the local currency unless specifically asked not to.

When using a foreign card abroad it was usually the case yes getting asked.

You want to be paying in euros with a clarity card, and unless asked id assume it's in euros (might say the amount in euros?)

don't they ask you if its even an option
outside of cashpoints I've only ever seen it asked at duty free or on an airplane

I'd imagine not many places are set up to bill in multiple currencies ,maybe some hotels or really classy places

In my experience, the unit ask you with on screen option.
