Apparently from that article the excess inventory is quite large,ie,one OEM apparently sent back 300000 Pascal GPUs to Nvidia. I wonder if they over-produced Pascal cards due to the mining demand? It would make sense for them to delay the next GPUs,until they sold off excess inventory and its not like AMD is exactly pressuring them currently either.
So, flood the market with cheaper current gen GPU's? or trickle out to maximise margins? Depending on what class of OEM boards that have been sent back ofc.

They actually didn't. It was a myth that AMD had any sort of driver issues worthy of the reputation they ended up with. NVidia are the ones with the history of bad drivers. They've had multiple class action lawsuits taken out against them specifically because of poor drivers.Ye amd used to have crappy drivers and now they have good but its draghing them down. Opinion that is
And yet opionion is that AMD got crappy drivers compare to Ngreedia. I am wrong or right ??They actually didn't. well considering for over a year people were scremaing blue murder about the lack of GPU supply and why aren;t Nvidia and AMD doing anything about it it would seem that Perhaps Nvidia were doing all they could and it has now come back to bite them.
While this is a logical reason for a delay, there is no real indication there is any delay in any case. Nvidia never gave a release date or roadmap, and all rumours have been vague.
If we assume there was a delay, and the delay was due to excess inventory, then we would expect the prices to be somewhat lower to shift stock. Prices have really just returned to normal. Perhaps even at MSRP the cards are selling fast enough that nvidia is not worried.
Nvidia would also have the option of simply selling pascal cards on the cheap when the next gen was released.
so they artificially inflated the price of there card blaming supply issues when they had stock all the time. nice way to treat your customers....

NV got 1 MASSIVE advantage over amd... Marketing they can sell polished turd to masses AMD cant sell superrior product at lower price in comparisson no matter what they try to do.
Lol. Well if they end up wanting £700 here, I will just get the 1170/2070 and wait for the 1180Ti/2080Ti. If they want more than £450 for the 1170/2070 might skip that too now that I got a 980Ti recently which mean I can play 95% of my steam library at max settings at 4K anyway.
Bloody Nvidia with their disgusting pricing, let’s hope the rumours are not true and they are not that greedy and stupid. If they continue trying to rip us PC gamers off, I will likely go back to AMD Freesync for my next monitor upgrade in a few years time once OLED ones come out. By then AMD should have a proper 4K graphics card one would hope.
Vega is slow. No its not, vega 56 is generally faster or competing with the 1070 and 1070ti. 64 is competing well with the 1080
Vega is hot and noisy. No they aint, the reference cooler aint bad and the stock vega setups from AMD dont run noisy at all.
Vega uses tons of power.. Nope again not true. Yes they use more than nvidias cards they compete with but not by huge amounts. Ok overvolt and overclock they can, but the secret to a fast vega is undervolting which really helps.
There's no doubting (except by AMD's superfans), that Vega is inferior to Pascal in all/nearly all metrics. (Gaming metrics; don't give a **** about mining, thanks!)
There is no reason at all to buy Vega when's it's priced higher and offers less.
Yep, I would not put anything passed that company to be honest.I'd bet on it being Nvidia that leak these fake prices so that when they announce the new card/s & tell us they're only £650 everyone breaths a sigh of relief and thinks they've dodged the bullet & got a fair deal.
You just reminded me, where is Flopper or whatever his name was(except by AMD's superfans)
