And when I am in the canteen... chair-scrapers. People who press the chair legs hard against the floor while dragging them to deliberately produce a louder noise than the room's accoustics is designed for. CHAIR-SCRAPERS ARE BOTH GENDERS! :p

I'm a chair-scraper ********! I only do it on purpose when my colleagues are talking and I'll come sit down in the canteen and interrupt their conversation :D

But yes, corridor-hoggers, and those morons who walk double file in a narrow corridor just because they're talking to the next person, also pee me off. I've found just stopping where I am and looking at my phone causes them to get back in line although they sometimes do brush me!

Gossip.

There is a gaggle of women at work, a clique, who are two-faced to each other and love a good game of Chinese whispers. Some of the stuff that has come from them is just toxic, unprofessional and down-right vile.

2: People who seem unable to hold a simple conversation. Asking about the weather or what someone has had for lunch are staples of British etiquette. If someone is so socially inept that participate in these ice breakers then then need therapy.

You would hate to work with me then :p. Whilst I will respond to small talk if I'm in a good mood, I'm here to work, not to socialise. I care not for 95% of people at work, they just happen to work for the same company as I.

I'm a right buzz to work with :D

In my organisation there seems to be some thing about keeping tea/coffee spoons in a cup of water. People use this as a sheepdip sort of solution, not washing the spoon after using it just dumping it in the cup of almost always brown water that for some reason exists. This is right next to a sink. Why not just simply rinse it and leave it on the drainer? That has to be better than leaving what is essentially a pot of waste water/coffee/tea/milk/sugar mix for an entire day :o

Same thing happens here... It's awful. People are inconsiderate and horrible when it comes to kitchen manners and hygiene. So much so that I have stopped having tea or coffee, nor do I use the kitchen at lunch.

I can relate to a lot of the points already made, the one that really gets my back up is smelly food eaten at their desk when there's a canteen. If they eat with their mouth up, it's even more irritating.

Two girls here love hum or sing along to songs on the radio which drives me insane.

The humming is the worst. Feels like I've got tinnitus at times.

People who don’t flush the loo - even though there is now a reminder on the door.

The young clique of girls who have just left uni who think they are God’s gift in every possible way.

The parents who think their child is the golden child and can do no wrong.

- Meeting invites from some random you don't work with that are their holiday dates.
- Emails just adding other people into a chain with no instructions or statement why they might possibly be any help to the topic.
- Emails asking for help followed by emails where the advice given was completely ignored and then asking for more help to clean up the resulting poo pile.
- Emails asking why you have not filled in the "Confidential Survey". Not very confidential is it !
- The "something didn't work" email where the sender does not describe what they're talking about, where it happened and any scale of importance (production, test, development) and then bogs off home before you can ask for details.

I could go on but am feeling a bit too stabby now.

Oooh there are loads,

9: Those that turn up to work early and stay late just to give the impression of working hard. If they spent 4 hours working in the day instead of talking about last nights telly and which fashionable diet they are on this week they could work 8 hours.

So much this too.

It doesn't show you're going to extra mile to me, it shows you are rubbish at your job and can't get the allocated work done in good time.

I was reading most of these thinking actually most of these never occur in my workplace thankfully.

- You're responsible for making your own tea/coffee (no-one offers, and no-one would accept)
- Individual coffee sachets and sugar sachets means no chance of anyone dipping a wet spoon into the sugar!

One "Skype" pet peeve that did just occur to me, is when people say "hi" without asking the question. I would much prefer people to say "Hi X, can you tell me about Y". Any "Hi's" tend to get met with deafening silence.

Whilst i'm on a roll.
- People who hide behind the away status when they're actually there
- People who hide behind the busy status when they're clearly not busy
- I work for a global company, and my Skype tends to stay logged in albeit 'away' when i've finished for the day. People know i work in the UK, so it baffles me when i log in the following morning to find someone from the US has tried talking to me at 11pm.
- Those who forget to mute themselves in a meeting, and subject the rest of us to heavy breathing or office background noise.
- Those who forget to unmute themselves when they're supposed to be talking (Ok we've all done that before, but some people seem to do this 5-10 times in a single meeting!, it's like wtf come onnn)

Traffic.
People who turn up the thermostat.
People who ask you questions when they already know the answer.
Whoever decided annual performance reviews were a good idea.
People who assume you want tea / want to make tea for others.

Everything and everyone I work with.... God why did I ever think it was a good idea to work in an office!! I hate it.. full of stupid, bureaucratic , cliche speaking management talking absolute load of ****** *****!!. None of them with an ounce of common sense between them.. I listen to them harking on some times and I think of "Dumber and Dumber"..

I'm taking semi retirement at 55.. just have to see the next 5 years out.. or next year if i'm finally made redundant.. Either which.. bring it on.

I would love to be made redundant, sadly it doesn't look like it's on the cards :(
