Thai cave rescue - One of the divers has died

not enough water for dolphins. the most logical solution would be a specially trained pack of SpecOps rabbits sent in to widen the tunnels. it's been done before.

It's probably an easy walk when it's not flooded
If that is an easy stroll then I hate to see a difficult one.

That's what has really confused me, how on earth did they get through some of those really tight spots?

Exactly.

Or even why?

Which is why I asked the question as I have not heard a reporter ask it on any news channel I have watched over the past few days.

They arent trying hard enough / mobilising fast enough. Simple as that. Get the army involved. Enlist developed country expertise. Civil engineering, mine working expert army dive experts. It seems to me they have a 2 bit operation going on with 3rd world equipment or stuff made in the 70s.

You haven't got a clue, why don't you fly over there and take your armchair with you.

There's experts flew in from all over the world and you can't just start trying things without analysing the risks first, you could argue they're already rushing things with the death of this diver.

Details are a bit sketchy but to me it sounds like they could do more.

Firstly on the air situation, cant they just tow an air feed line through the tunnels and pump air in?

Secondly on the evacuation. Not sure how many kids there are but extract one at a time with a team of divers. Lay guide ropes with underwater lights on through the tunnel system. The kid doesnt need to swim, just be towed along. If panic, then put them under anesthetic for the extraction.

How many pumps have they got in the cave system? If its only a few then get more. There should be a huge amount of experience available in the world from mine dewatering which is commonplace.

 So much **** in one post, it's probably the highest **** to content ratio of any post on these forums I've ever seen and there have been some stinkers!!

Oh and they are trying to get a 5 km air line in and have been trying since discovery along with a fibre optic cable for comms but perhaps with you being such an expert on the extremely difficult and challenging conditions of a deep flooded cave rescue really should be out there taking control of the mission

Yeah, they’re just not trying, it’s as though the loads of experts, experienced rescue divers, military forces, civilians , companies involved from both Thailand and other countries are just sitting there enjoying the sun and the free haircuts

Oh wait....

Over 1,000 people have been involved in the rescue operation, including Thai Special Forces divers as well as teams and technical assistance from multiple countries, including the United Kingdom, China, Myanmar, Laos, Australia, the United States, Russia, Finland, Sweden, and Israel.

They have the best people and the best technology available. This isn't some kind of half arsed attempt by a dozen rickshaw drivers using bamboo poles and banana leaves.

I only have the news feed to go on, yes, same as everyone else.

But some things are obvious.

The Thai navy is in attendance. Are they any good? If you were in the cave wouldnt you rather the British navy were controling things?

They may be trying their best but its not western standards by any means.

Last I heard it was being lead by 2 British cave rescue divers, the ones who found the boys and the experts who were called almost straight away.

I would just get a few tonnes of dynamite and blow a passage through to them, not that hard. I've seen enough cartoons/movies to know how it works. I'm sure in the hollywood blockbuster filmof this that is exactly what Mark Wahlberg will do.

In fact I am surprised the mutant/hillbillies who live down there haven't eaten them already.

They are excellent.

I'd want experts controlling things. I wouldn't care which country they came from.

You're talking absolute ****.

Why don’t they just use those bombs they used in Afghanistan to flush out bin laden that can penetrate into deep rock , why is no one thinking of these things!

Sheez, if you dig your hole any deeper we're going to have to send in cave rescue to find you

I thought you made some good points danlightbulb. Certainly no worse than Musk on twitter etc. At least you are trying to suggest ideas and come up with solutions, like you say ppl need to get a grip.

Did you reject the call to go over and help? After all you seem like quite the cave rescue expert

He is an expert, he’s British so automatically he has more expertise and authority than those highly trained navy seal divers, because what do they know huh?
