What about being 16 stops you doing that? People of that age and younger have committed hideous crimes and acts.

Troubled upbringing for starters no doubt. Possibly bullied also. Hard to believe people are born like that. People maybe have some level of potential but usually there's a trigger that sparks it off similar to people with schizophrenia.
 
Everybody should know right from wrong, even if they are of a criminal deviant nature.

This guy needs to be locked up for life if he's done it.

I totally agree that we are all born inherently knowing the difference between right and wrong to a degree but good patenting(teaching and nurturing) should reinforce this sense and understating of the difference between right and wrong but not many people would deny the opposite also that bad treatment and neglect at a younger age can lead to dire consequences.

What posses someone to commit this sort of act? I have a wee girl of a similar age and she brings me so much joy. I couldn't imagine a scenario where someone would want to kill her. It is seriously messed up beyond belief.... I can't even begin to imagine what has to go through your mind to go and hurt a child.....it's evil.

You never know guys. This 16 y/o could fall down the same pit that took Venables (Jamie Bulger's killer). Remember, the age of criminal responsibility in UK law is 10. He'll be outed whether by legitimate means or illegitimate means. If he isn't banged up for a full-life tariff, then he'll make repeated visits to jail regardless, just like the Bulger killer. He's going to cost us taxpayers a fortune. Millions :(
 
If he's a local, in a small place like Bute won't be to hard to work it out, he must know somebody from school and all of a sudden he dissapears etc. I certainly don't condone vigilante mobs. There will always be wrongdoing, just extreme in this case.

Everybody in Bute will know I would imagine as people will be talking in private, but you won’t see it in the papers or posted in social media unless the case judge deems it in the public interest to make it public and I don’t see any reason why he would. A member of public posting his details would end up in serious trouble.

these are the cases where if found guilty then the best outcome, as we don't have death penalty, is that someone in jail finds out who they are and slices the **** up

Eye for an eye. But could that not lead to a continual circular state of violence. That's how the gangsters and gangs start out. One act of retaliation and before you know it you can have rival gangs killing each other all over the place.

If his name was let loose and he was from a built up area it would be messy, possibly lynched. Think of the corporal killings in NI.

But the people who lynched him, their guilt would eventually catch up with them also. That's why we have laws and a legal system.

Not sure that's what jail is for, it's for rehabilitation and incarceration it's not a place where amateur genital surgery is carried out,
you've been watching too many prison movies.
Such prison behaviour is a myth, would that Grouty and his mates DID hand out summary gruesome justice for nonces and pervs or
else we wouldn't have scumbags like Brady, Hindley, Nilsen, Black, Straffen living to a ripe old age and dying of natural causes, nor have
Huntley, Sutcliffe, Tobin living it up in 3 star luxury at my expense + free Wi-Fi.

You can be sure the Scottish justice system under the SNP administration will go the extra
mile, and pull out all the stops, and leave no stone unturned to ensure the killer of the little girl will get off a bit lightly.
