Ironically perhaps, I'm going to also state that I, along with about 97% of other gentlemen WOULDN'T be hopping on your wife as soon as we saw her on the dancefloor.

That's no disrespect to your wife of course, I'm sure she's a lovely lady. Just pointing out that rapey men are about as common as women who falsely accuse men of the act itself.

I just think it's all qute the load of nonsense. I've been 1 of 6 working dudes amongst a unit of 146 working ladies for the past 11 years (Maternity department). I've been on the reception desk for 4 of those and been moved between 3 hospitals on a semi regular basis. Not once have I ever seen ANY evidence that women act in the ways so many on here seem to think they do. Never been called out for holding a door open, making an innocent comment about on outfit or generally having a laugh. I just don't buy it, sorry.

Wasn't there a study recently that fpund something close to 25% of men felt that asking a woman out could be considered harassment.

monday of this week i was stood at a deli counter i regularly frequent ordering lunch, there were 3 women stood together (none of which i knew) humming and haaing among them what to have. i struck up conversation with them advising what was good, in my opinion, and what wasn't. i cracked a few jokes with them and the other 2 girls behind the counter serving (who i do know very well) there was some laughing, there was some mild flirting......and guess what......none of them rang the police or had some sort of mental seizure. weird that.

I think people are taking the legitimate concerns of the rich and famous and applying it to thier own lives where it is not relevant to them


If I was famous or an mp etc is be worried as it is though the only concern of some merit is the growing thing of women being told they can retrospectively withdraw consent.

But on my list of concerns in life it ranks somewhere along side "hmmm its best the use by date but still smells ok" in severity:p

A lot of them get upset, and they're awful. Why's that so hard to believe?
We have a 'notable number' of female types in the office here who have chips on their shoulders about the patriarchy and white male privilege. Many of them Australian, I notice... Maybe it's a thing, out there.

It was brought up in the discussions/interviews in the DVD extras and stuff, as in, "So, given the film title, what DO women want?"... And generally there were a lot of shrugging women with no useful answers.

Its a touchy subject that has a lot of media attention and seemingly moving goalposts on what is considered harassment. There will be some women who will consider a man asking them out who they deem as unworthy as disgusting and scream harassment, others will just decline. For most people its a non issue, for the famous its much more worrisome as the slightest claim of harassment and your career is pretty much over.

your original post was using the word awful to suggest a large number, now it's just 'a lot' and that they are awful......is the 'a lot' really just a very small number.....like maybe one :p

i still don't believe you though. not that what i believe matters though. i just don't believe that you've met an awful 'lot', just 'a lot' or even any considerable amount of women who have gotten a tad pissy about you opening a door for them.

This basically come's down to what Trump said, if you're a billionaire you can do whatever you want to women and they'll go along with it. Except this doesn't *just* apply to billionaires, and there's a spectrum, the higher status you are the more you can get away with. A tall good looking guy with 2,000 followers on Instagram who drives an Audi can get away with a lot, and women will actually be happy about it. If you're a low status male, ugly, short, poor, fat, etc, you'll get reported to the Police if you're too forward with a woman, and if you're forward at all you'll get sneered at as a creep.

It's pretty straight forward, as men we'd not have any issues with a hot girl being as forward as she wants with us, if she's ugly we'd be a bit repulsed. Same thing.
