I imagine even the newer Polos completely dwarf it!

Funnily enough I was reminiscing over the VW CitiGolf the other day, the final ones before they stopped production in 2009 looked pretty great, wonder if anyone's imported one over here.

My sister in law has one, great little car, the interior was updated quite well (not by modern standards by a long shot, but considering the age of the car it's lovely) and the air conditioning works really well. Weighs as much as a paperclip and the 1.8 is more than enough to have a play in. I'd love one over here, but even in Saffrica they're starting to gain classic status with prices to match (although povvo spec models can still be had for a few grand).

Yeah they started putting the Skoda Fabia interior/dash in at some point which freshened it up a lot.

Somehow they (along with the Conquest/Tazz which was Toyota's equivalent of the CitiGolf) always held their value. When my parents and I moved out there in 2001 my mum get a second-hand Conquest 1600 for about R20,000 as a run-around, and sold it 5 years later for the same money.

Was at Thruxton yesterday, during my 2nd lap, this happened!

Felt like something out of a computer game :p

Cool :D

When did you get a Caterham?

I don't like the colour. Ferraris should be Red, Black or Yellow. I can't imagine how hard it would be to get bird droppings or tree sap off that paint either. :p

@mrk that's like something out of GTA! Although in this case the pilot must have lost his bearings..

Thruxton has its own airfield! Just so happens during this trackday the airfield was active! People were saying how its rare to see a plane get so low as well for the off chance they are flying the same time as an ongoing trackday session!

Cool :D

Not a Caterham, a Westfield SE 1.6, and not mine! A workmate bought it for £5k a while back for the sole purpose of tracking it. So three of us did a whole day at Thruxton thrashing the pants off it. Supremely great fun!

You could climb walls with how sticky the tyres ended up :D
