It's too hot :(

What's going on... no rain forecast for the coming weekend and the following week.

Even the trees round here are dying.

Crazy. We really, really, really, really need rain at this point. The ground is baked solid and cracked. Grass is dead.

Not sure what is happening but everything is dying, the trees around the park are on the last legs, I cannot maintain plants, the cats I look after have gone funny, the birds don't sing of a morning anymore.

Welcome to hell on earth. Its bad even the weeds are dying. lol :P

7:41 pm and its still 24c here in Liverpool. No wind, nothing its like living in a oven for 3 months.

Typical July/August summer here. 25-30 degrees during the day with afternoon thunderstorms. Cars are in the garage so we should be good if this one hits us. All the hail has missed us so far.

And apparently these have just fallen out of the sky just south of my house (I'm still at work).

Forecast this morning was for a high of 21 degrees here. When I was out in the car the outside temp was reading 30. Inside temp at one point was 49!

I love this hot weather, because I know all too shortly, winter is coming...and I prefer being hot to being cold!

If most buildings had a/c like they do in countries that experience these temperatures regularly, it'd be fine but most UK buildings are built and insulated primarily for cold winters and lukewarm summers at best.

Yup. Our office is a glorified metal box come greenhouse with all the windows. It's unbearable. The ac has packed up too.

So where's all this hot weather they've been banging on about for the past week? Mild at best and cloudy here with a cool breeze. Feels like summer is circling the toilet. :(

It's actually worse than that. Most newish buildings in the UK (built in the last few decades at least) these days are actually over-insulated in order to meet energy targets and crap, this means hot weather has more of an impact than it does in a "drafty/poorly insulated" Victorian/Edwardian house with proper air bricks. It's almost like the victorians actually knew what they were doing and chose not to super insulate their buildings and make the air stale lol.
