May have lost my job so looking for advice on saving money

Sorry i forgot there is also an HD charge & one multi room charge as well..
You could still get money get knocked off your contract. However, thinking about it, that would lock you into a contract again which isn’t a good move in your situation. If you like movies, you’re better off ditching it and going to free view and a sub, either Netflix or amazon.

Is this over the phone thread how are you losing your job from q contractor breaking your stiff O.o
Yes...

All I can say is this
Due to me getting really stressed and being angry after he broke my mobile phone when it happened and not treating it professionally and acting out of character..(IE I was shouting at the person that broke my phone)

Management only saw me being stressed & angry after this happened..

You were subject to a violent assault. It's to be expected.

They definitely need to hear both sides of the story, what they saw was only the consequence of previous actions (and most people would have acted in a similar manner).

How long have you been at the company? Any chance of pushing for a settlement agreement?

It's only 10 miles from one side of Guernsey to the other. Even if your not very fit at the moment, it wont take long until you can easily cycle that twice a day. Unless you have dependent family members who need a lift or something like that, you dont really need a car.

£125 is plenty for a decent second-hand bike. Dont get a new bike for that price.

Ohhhhhhh that thread. Ja I'd be seeking out some Legull Sauce, that's not on. Milk the hell out of it if you can.

£30 per month mobile phone
Should I change this to say a £10 per month or a pay as you go
You can general get decent SIM only deals wiht ~1GB of data for closer to £7 if you shop around.

SKY roughly £60 per month
If I phoned up and cancelled this tomorrow would there be any more to pay
Yep no brainer to cancel this, payment to exit contract will depend on what you signed up for.

Motorbike insurance paid by £40 per month over 10 months
This was renewed only about 1 month ago so am guessing I would be charged a fee when I cancel it..

Car Insurance around £275
Guess there nothing I can do here as I will still need a car

Personally I'd say keep the car, sell the bike, you can cancel insurance but generally there's a £50ish fee.

40mb Internet connection + line rent about £40 per month
Guessing there not much I can do here as well as I wouldn't be able to use my mobile phone internet instead if I reduce the mobile phone plan

Personally I'd downgrade to a standard BB internet connection ~18PCM

The other person story to the bosses has come out with he only just picked up my work bag up off the bench and placed it on the floor....

I wish there was cameras covering the area as just before the thing with my work bag happened he picked up and threw the 8ft work bench out of the work shop in temper we had the argument over

I been working there 8 years

Was there no witnesses?
If your not emotionally attached to your car that would be the first to go. Even if you can’t sell it private we buy any car often give good values for newer good condition cars. You can buy a decent run around for 2k so you will have a good 10-12k back in the bank.
If it’s in regards to the other thread as others have said it sounds unfair so seek legal advice.

I'd look to confront management over it - ask them what they expect if you hence forth etc etc

You’re either not telling us the full story or you’re an absolute pushover if you’re losing your job because of the situation in the other thread.

Stop being such a pushover. You've worked there for eight years and were the one wronged to the tune of £400 by some violent div who's only been there a few months. And now you're just going to give in, lose your job and your way of life over said div's actions? Shake off the melancholy and MTFU!

Go on MoneySavingExpert and look at the broadband deals on there. After vouchers and cashback, some of them are about £13 a month. I pointed this out to a Sky advisor when renegotiating and now pay £12.50 a month for broadband. :)

Car: use a bike instead. You are on a small island and can easily manage.

Sky: Get rid and use freeview TV instead.

Mobile phone: ID Mobile do good SIM-only deals if Three signal is good where you live.

House rent: You CAN lower your bills in another way. Find a bank which pays cashback on bills. See MoneySavingExpert.

This was my thoughts. I would be looking for the other guy to get the push or repremanded at a minimum. There's more going on here I suspect...

I say I most be in the absolute pushover camp...
Can't really see what else I can do when the bosses believe everything the other guy says and they did not see what happened..

The bad temper of this guy happens all the time so am sure the management are going end up seeing his temper sooner or later...;)
