8Pack Red Friday Bundle Support Thread!!

I've just troed the oc profiles, but whenever the CPU is under full load it doesn't go up to 5000 it stops at 4800. Any ideas why this would be? This is right off the bat under full load (prime 95) so I don't think throttling is occurring.

I noticed the same thing after loading up the 3800mhz profile earlier and running prime.

Went back into bios and noticed the avx negative offset was set at 2. Meaning it'll automatically drop 200mhz off your clock speed if your running a prime 95 version that uses avx, ie, anything after v26.6.

So sounds normal to me. What we're your temps like even though it backed off to 4.8GHz? If you don't mind me asking.

My temps are not great under load even at 1.28v - hitting 90ish. I'm gonna re-apply some new thermal paste and switch the fans around, as the noiseblockers are pulling air off the radiator, rather than onto it (4 fan setup).

Run none AVX Prime 26.6 if you must............No need to mess about with prime etc to be honest on that profile just run have fun!!!!

I'm getting temps under full load of up to the mid 90s. Does this suggest the thermal paste isnt applied well enough?

Did your changes help the temp drop at all?

I'm planning on making the changes tomorrow night so i'll report back then. Hopefully I should see slightly lower temps than you with a push/pull setup as you're just using push at the moment right?

I have build it all up but I'm waiting on a graphic card. I fired it up to install windows but would it be ok to flash the bios and set to 3800Mhz, considering I'm on integrated graphics atm?

I have checked that while stress testing there is no drop outs through device manager. Whats the best utility to monitor temps?

Hello, I do the memory profile and it seems to load as in the bios it says say 4000 but when in cpu-z it says memory running dram 2000 but then the nb freq is arround 4200 is this right or is it running at 2000 ?

Also how do you know if its running the bios flash or reverted back to the old bios ?

What results should we be looking for is it in cpu-z etc on the processor it comes up on bench as...

single: 583
multi: 4386
ratio 7.52

thanks in advance

Double dram frequency in cpuz to get the actual frequency (since it's dual channel). So it's running at 4000mhz.

If you've updated the bios and been able to load the oc profiles it won't have reverted back or anything.

What should I be looking to compare with and which software should I use I know cpu-z is mentioned a lot on the forum... does this seem okay to you ? thanks

The speed is doubled because it's Double Data Rate, not dual channel.

As Bowie92 said if you've loaded the profile successfully it's fine. Your setup looks fine, clock speed is 5.2GHz.

Asked a million times before, but any issues with the proposed airflow below?

Radiator won't fit at the top, so front only mount with fans either side pulling air in and exhausting through the rear/top.

Just having a look at this, was thinking of a similar setup, but wouldn't you be drawing hot air through the radiator and over the m/b and GPU making them hotter
