Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Agreed, if £1000/1100 is true then it's going to be very big jump over current pricing. 1080Ti at 400ish will be a bargain in comparison. Love mine :)
The most recent leaks are suggesting pricing the same or close to 10* pricing at launch so not sure why you think 1000/1100 - I would be very surprised to see the 2080Ti higher than 700

Might be unlikely? Based on all the leaks so far there should be zero doubts that the 2080 should be sufficient to go beyond those requirements and 2080Ti should be significantly better.

I thought the 1080ti struggled to hit 60 in many titles at 4k? I may be out of touch.

Nnnnnnnnnnrrrh, don't tempt me to spend 2080ti money!

The 1080Ti did but the 2080 is rumoured to be significantly faster than the 1080Ti so it should be fine. The 2080Ti should chew up 4k like baby food.

$1000 is rumoured heavily, which at the current crappy pound rate would be higher than a 1:1 conversion. They'd be mad to charge that much though, unless yields are low.
No it isn't - there is only one instance where 1000 has been shown (PNY) and it is pretty obvious that is a placeholder price (no-one prices at 1000, they would do 999.99 or similar not 1000.00 it is simply bad marketing).

Same, BUT I'm also thinking of sticking with my 1080Ti and going with an Xbox One X instead for Forza and RDR2. Both should look fantastic on my OLED, and zero wrong with the 1080Ti at my UW res...
Is your monitor a high-refresh one? Because after playing Forza at 165 frames it would be rather crippling going back to 60 on Xbox.

Hmm, ok, thanks all. I spose I'll wait and see, let the initial rush die down and decide from there. Meanwhile try to finally hit 1k and get into the makers mart incase I decide to go 1080ti .

True, it is all up in the air atm (and could have been a nvidia plant anyhow, so when they announce $850ish then everyone says it isn't really too bad! lol)

As I said I would be very surprised if they priced much higher than release on FE for 10* series cards. I am expecting 749 max (but genuinely believe they will be under 700 - maybe 679 or something). Keep in mind I am talking about FE cards here (which is what I will be buying).

How you calculated the power they need? 285W is at base clock. On GPUs that translates boost clocks you would be looking at 400W+
Vega 64 has base clock at 176W to put in perspective.

So way higher the 2080 ti than 1.6 power over the 970

285W isn't official yet and is for a custom card and not the reference spec. The 1080ti ref has a TDP of 250W and runs roughly at that figure under load.

Vega 64 official TDPs are 295W (air) and 345W (water) so your figure of 176W is clearly incorrect.
