Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

The current nvidia shop price for 1080 is £470 and £670 for the Ti so launching at 549-599 for 2080 and 699-749 for the TI seems quite possible.

I’m ready with the cash but I’m going to hold off selling my 1080Ti for now as I don’t fancy being without a rig for weeks and I reckon the 1080 will still fetch good money due to people not quite wanting to spend 700-800 quid.

Is it just the announcements tomorrow or will stock be available from Tuesday?

Yes, but when did they last release a Ti at the same time as the 'normal' cards? Never. It's new territory, and with the size of it they'll want more imo.
Even more reason for them not to introduce a 27% price increase - because people simply won't buy them. They need to shift this generation in numbers because 7nm is just around the corner - they are not going to price these aggressively, I think there is a great deal of unnecessary concern - it simply doesn't meet market economics.

Don't blame you, the 1080Ti won't turn into a bad card overnight. It'll take nVidia at least 6 months to start to retard the performance via drivers ;) :p

I will still with 679.00 GBP for 2080Ti - that is where I believe they will price it.

Let’s hope so but can’t see it.

2nd hand old gen cards prices would plummet :)
They don't care about second hand last gen - it has zero impact on them as they make literally not a penny from the sale of second hand cards so it will not factor into their decision making whatsoever.

NVIDIA RTX 2070 Specs Leaked – 2304 Cores, 8GB GDDR6 at ~$400

https://wccftech.com/nvidia-rtx-2070-specs-leaked-2304-cores-8gb-gddr6-at-400/

Videocardz sources confirmed RTX 2070 will have 2304 CUDA cores and 8GB GDDR6 but performance is not at GTX 1080 Ti level, only just 8% faster than GTX 1080. When overclocked it could reach GTX 1080 Ti performance level.

The price is huge gap between $400 RTX 2070 and $700 RTX 2080 so a chip with GTX 1080 Ti performance level would be RTX 2070 Ti that do not exist yet probably until 2019.

Guess I will get RTX 2080 so I will have to wait and see.
Just want to LOL at the earlier "rumour" that the 2060 would match a 1080.

I think most of us knew that was garbage.

2070 matches a 1080 for very nearly 1080 money - sounds about right to me (not "right" as in "acceptable/worth it", more like "predictable nV greed"). The 2070 isn't even the TU04 chip, remember. It's the one down from that - TU106 - the chip that used to power the GTX xx60 cards.

Have you been reading through the threads at all? You've got people saying 'I'm still on socket 775 with 2gb of DDR ram and I'm playing at 720i but NVIDIA TAKE MY MONEY FOR THE 2080TI!!!'

Maybe that's a bit hyperbolic but it's not far off! :D

I said 2nd hand card prices. Especially on here
As I said, they don't give a damn about the second hand market - the only impact it has on them is the pain in the ass it is dealing with warranty returns from non-original purchasers - they would be happier if there was no second hand market.

I have ready every single page of the thread and I have seen FAR more people saying they would never consider paying 1000 for the 2080Ti - perhaps it is you that needs to go back and read the thread.

Actually thats not true.
Someone getting into PC gaming for the first time is quite likely to buy second hand cards. If they buy Nvidia and like it. Nvidia potentially have a new customer for life. It IS important to them.

Waiting for 6pm tomorrow then Tuesday to follow with stock levels / pricing then will make an executive decision :D

The 1080ti for me has been superb at 4k I’ve not really needed to turn any settings down but the 2080ti for me will seal huge 4k and Gsync for me.

What people say and what people do are two very different things.
People lost their minds at the launch price of the reference 1080. Still sold out.

What are you on lol

When did I mention if they care?
