Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

As someone who has played around with POV-Ray since the 90s the real time ray tracing tech is impressive and I've waited to see it happen for a long time, having said that I had to switch the stream off, will read about the highlights later...And the pricing is mental so I will skip this gen and hope competition from AMD/Intel will bring some sanity back.
 
And how much are these obviously massively game enhancing features going to suck out of the framerate? Funny how that's not been mentioned yet.
 
This is nice and all but I don't see developers taking advantage of it, at least not yet

When will the benchmarks for *real* games drop?
 
All this talk to hype it up before it drops to the price point and performance increase / specs. I don't know why I was expecting for them to treat their consumer base with respect.

Theyre actually much better ingame, not sure whats going on there, its like they've dumbed the effect down so it doesn't harm the framerate. Plus the stream being pixelly doesn't help.
