Boris and the burka

Calm down, as I have long said it's fairly academic, the EU itself is falling apart at the seams, actually even faster that I had hoped for, thanks to migration, but I myself voted to get out, totally and utterly, and that's what I expect a prime Minister to honour, divorced or not :) I wonder what the Swedish vote will bring tomorrow? Save a bit of hysteria, it ain't over yet :)

Oh, I'm not hysterical, Chris.

The frothing Brexiteers, on the other hand, are trying to reinvent the mandate.

That's hysteria. :)

Oh, another poll, you do remember the accuracy of the last one *before* the referendum? ;)

Absolutely, and the actual result of a narrow victory was within the accepted margin of error. If Brexit was such a good idea, support for it would be increasing, not going the other way. Unfortunately the likes of Farage, Davis and (to stay on topic) Boris the burka bumbler have all run away from the inevitable disaster.

Mr Badger; let it go... You lost. Get over it like a big boy

What is it with all these adults with the emotional abilities of a 10year old spoilt brat?

If you can, try arguing the points raised instead of throwing childish insults around.

Polls don't trump official votes. We voted to leave, and as such are leaving. Now grow up.

I didn't mention polls. I mentioned that Dan Hannan, the founder of Vote Leave, along with other hardline Brexiteers said before the referendum that "no one is talking about leaving the single market" (see the video I posted above).

You grow up, "Skunky". :)

I find one thing hilarious, May's statement that a second vote would 'be a betrayal of democracy'.
I think she will find in a democracy, things change, minds change, votes change, and indeed at the next election, be it for her leadership, or the national elections, people will quite likely change their minds.
Betrayal.
Hilarious.

if there was a second vote no matter how i voted the first time, the second time i would 100% vote out.
by having a second vote there saying you was wrong the first time try again.

How about the point there was a referendum won in 2016 by the Leave vote. That is the highest most empirical truth. Never mind the "if it was held now". Its just like watching the screeching from a bunch of histrionic Muppets because they didn't get their way. God only knows how they manage to get by in life.

"GIVE ME BACK MY TIME MACHINE" *waves hand around head*... *walks away from black man walking away with a bone density scanner*... Even he accepted it and moved on

Yes, we've moved on from that. We're now talking about the terms of Brexit, and the myth that "Brexit has always meant hard Brexit". If that's the case, why is Dan Hannan (Vote Leave) on record in the build-up to the referendum saying that "no-one is suggesting that we leave the single market"?

Do keep up.

It is 100% clear what the vote was for. Pick up a dictionary and look up the definitions of remain and leave.

We leave the EU to become a sovereign independent nation. What is so difficult to understand about that?

Personally I am looking forward to Brexit solving all our problems.

I agree, I can't wait to see how the magical money tree will sprout.
;)
2 parties utterly divided within, a third related to the sidelines, and a government at its own throat with a blonde buffoon heckling from the sidelines.
Frankly, we need a leadership challenge, we need Boris made PM, we need Boris to sort whatever style of Brexit we end up with, so when we get it, and we get the results of it, we can decide if he should hang from one of the London bridges as result.
Else it is too easy for him and the others such as the Reece-Mogg, to catcall from the sidelines, without ever having to display or defect their truth.
Sooner May goes the better, but this isn't remotely what the Johnson wants.

Then why did Dan Hannan (Vote Leave founder) say in the run-up that "nobody is suggesting that we leave the single market"?

Even Aaron Banks (Leave.EU founder) and Nigel Farage suggested "The Norway option".

I find it staggering that some people struggle with this, even when there are videos of Hannan, Banks, Farage and others actually saying it in the build-up to the referendum.

Here is the video again.

Vote Leave was never about getting "totally and utterly" out of the EU. That line has been spun by the hard-brexiteers since the referendum.

It's laughable really, especially when Vote Leave founder, Dan Hannan, in the build-up to the referendum went on record claiming that "absolutely nobody is talking about threatening our place in the single market".

Here he is, and some of the other prominent Brexiteers, all claiming in the lead-up that there are amazing alternatives to severing ties completely with EU.
