£29 Travelodge Rooms

You’re having a laugh, I’d prefer The Dorchester, but when my nephew graduated University, quite a few of the family stayed at The Travelodge, Brighton Seafront, a high rise modern building, £50 a room, it was exceptionally clean and comfortable.
The only drawback, (IMO), was that it was Pride Week, and when we checked out around 13.00, it took forever to get to the station in a taxi, because of the traffic, not the parade, I’d have walked, it’s not far up West St., but as usual, she’d packed virtually her entire wardrobe.
I've stayed in maybe 5-6 Travelodges and they've all been dire, especially the bed, which is kinda the important thing in a hotel? Mostly stay at Premier Inn's now which are far better for not that much more cash money.

I have to go up to Liverpool fairly regularly, I normally see Travel Lodge rooms for £30 a few days before in the middle of the city centre.

I have also had Travel Lodge and Premier Inn for £30 at Heathrow and Gatwick before.

Whenever I go to London and pass that Holiday Inn overlooking the M4 at Heathrow, I dream up the sums of money they'd have to pay me to stay there. :p It's the most depressing building I've ever seen. Admittedly I don't get out much. :p

Stayed in a Premier Inn last week. Thought the breakfast for £9.50 was good value and would consider going to one even just for the breakfast.

Anyone who says Travelodge and Premier Inn are crap should spend a night at the St Enoch hotel in Glasgow City Centre. Makes Travelodge look like a 5 star hotel.

Premier Inn are fine, Travel Lodge is okay, my only gripes with them is that the few times I stayed in them, they all smell a bit. Premier Inn on the other hand always felt clean, like on much fancier hotel level clean. Also the rooms are always spacious too and the breakfast is always good.

We used to use Travelodge for work until one occasion when a colleague got there late evening (around 8/9pm), only to find their room had been given away because they hadn't checked in yet. Apparently it's in their Ts and Cs that they can do that.

I don't know if that's still the case but they called recently to find out if we still wanted our business account and when I explained why we stopped they didn't say that it had been changed.

did this person actually take and post a photograph of a plate of food ?

tell me I'm wrong
It's hardly unusual.

I stayed in a Hub by Premier Inn the other week, in Brick Lane. It was brilliant! Smaller rooms but still everything you need and very modern and new. Highly recommended!

Stopping at the hub in covent garden week after next doesn't look to bad for the price.

I've stayed at that hotel a few times and find it a very good place. Sure the rooms are smaller than usual but that is the thing with the hub hotels. Good beds, decent bathrooms. And the Hub at Covent Garden is close to one of my favorite cafe's in London too :)

Spot on matey any cafe's you recommend fire away.

There is a place called "Bageriet" on Rose Street which is a few minutes walk away. It's very small (2 tables) and they do Swedish pastries and bakery and it's delicious (as a Swede I'm very biased here though! :P ) Rose Street is a small side street going of Long Acre that goes from Leicester Square Tube Station. So if you would walk from Leicester Square tube station towards Covent Garden tube station you'll be walking along Long Acre. Rose Street is right next to the Stanford book shop on the right when facing in the direction of Covent Garden.

And a link to Bageriet, https://www.bageriet.co.uk
