Senior police officer faces sack over 'whiter than white' remark

The best use of anyone's time combating this sad era we live in is to trawl all forces Twitter and Facebook posts and report any of these common use phrases as hate crimes. I imagine this isn't the only incidident of stupidity on their part.

thats the depressing thing - just how many similar incidents go without being reported by the media?

The met and the police are 100% institutionally racist and discriminatory.

They have job roles that can only be filled by specific ethnicities..

White isnt one of those ethnicities though so it's ok

Do you think that's the choice of the police or the MP's/vocal public who can't accept that a white person will treat an ethnic person equally?

Is it a bad thing to be white in this age? Are white things bad? Can or should white be removed or denied from the colour spectrum to eliminate the potential to hurt others feelings just by the sheer mention of it? Confused!

A spade is a spade ? Is that now in their pathetic list?

Black hole? White wash? Pure white?

They wouldn't like what I call a blood blister, that's for sure!
They will defo have to rename "Pure Brilliant White" to something like "Non-diverse, privileged white". Coming to a Deluxe stockist near you in 2019.

I had an argument this evening with a feminist friend where she said I had no right to complain about the issue at hand as I had it easy in general as a white male.

Actually, the rules should be enforced equally and what you do by dismissing white males as irrelevant is that you alienate them. Therefore next time you want to negotiate a gender or race/culture specific exception/exemption policy at work or in society as a whole, you are not going to get the support of that demographic most likely through pure spite.

That will drive the perceived "oppressive patriarchy" cycle further into a spiral.

I really find identity politics depressing these days and I sometimes wonder if the seeds have been sown by the elites to keep the plebs at each others throats so they don't turn their attention to bigger problems.

Ah well, we had a good run didn't we. Its about time we fell down this rabbit hole and ultimately destroy our own society with nonsense.

So is the popular idiom "Pot calling the kettle black" going to eventually be seen as a racist comment?

It already is. In practically every sitcoms with a black chapter one of the white ones gets half way through saying it before having to veer off as they realise

Identity politics ="'**** we're not actually oppressed **** off the main group till they do some.thing against us in retaliation so we can claim oppresison"

It's possible, but identity politics has been sadly popular for a very long time and would be a rather dangerous tool for established elites unless the favoured identity is them. The general goal of identity politics is power, so success tends to undermine the established elites and complete success usually kills them so that the leaders of the identity politics become the new elite. Hitler is of course the most infamous example of successful identity politics, but there have been many others in the past and there will probably be many others in the future. It's a simple, powerful, tried, tested and proven route to power. It provides followers with a simple answer, a defined enemy to blame for everything, an identity, a sense of belonging, a sense of righteousness, a legitimised outlet for their anger, fear and hatred and finally the thrill of wielding power to harm without fear of retribution and with the perception of doing the right thing, of being a righteous hero slaying The Evil to save The Good. It can lead ordinary people to do things like hack their neighbours to death with machetes and think it's the right thing to do. And no, that's not hyperbole. The Rwandan genocide is the modern high point of biological group identity politics and it wasn't that long ago.

Tell her she’s sexist and racist. She’s prejudicing you on your race and sex. If I say that all black people are criminals because they’re overly represented in crime statistics, it’d be unfair irrational, tarring them all with the same brush and racist. If she says that all white men are privileged because they’re overly represented in wealthy circles, it’d be unfair irrational, tarring them all with the same brush and racist. I strongly advise you to reconsider being ‘friends’ with her.

I think she is irrational but despite that we actually have a lot in common and have a lot of laughs and shared hobbies so it's a storm in a tea cup tbh.

I am tolerant of people with different opinions to mine, no matter how silly I think they are. It's important to mix with people you don't agree with even more so these days in my opinion because we live in a world where lots of people exist in echo chambers and spout rubbish completely unchallenged.

I think that gives me the moral high ground and I'm quite proud of it to be honest. It doesn't mean I'm right but at least I make an effort to understand the opposite position.
