Road Cycling

Reads as if the power and inpower both fit, if you where going for a rotor based PWM? Can't think why you'd have any issue, could email them and ask?

Boiling hot here this afternoon, hope you're all able to enjoy it! Fingers crossed it's the same tomorrow as I'm off work (little ones 1st birthday!)

Back out with the local group on saturday, more good weather forecast so the ride planner has plotted a short non-hilly route. WTF

Yep. Castelli perfecto and knee warmers this morning. Rapha training jersey short sleeve this afternoon. Madness. Although I was rocking the former yesterday evening as it was an easy ride and there is that chill in the air when the sun goes down.

So I know that Shamrock's gear has arrived - did anyone else's spexcel orders turn up yet? If so what did you think?
Got my "2018 UPDATE SPEXCEL CYCLING BIB SHORTS Training or race cycling bottom with Italy high density 3D cut pad free shipping" yesterday.

Meh.

I suspect that a £25 bib from Decathlon would be comparable.

The Spexcels are thin lycra, and I possibly should have sized down from the recommendation on the size chart on their store page. They're not baggy, but the fit is a bit looser than I'd expect. I'm 187cm, 95kg, and (I've just measured...) have 65cm thighs. I ordered size 2XL.

Theres some reflective dots on the legs which are a nice feature but a couple of dots are missing from each leg which spoils the effect a bit. Nevertheless they look smart, and are completely free of external branding or extra colours.

The gripping on the inside of the legs is nice - quite a wide generous band - I just wonder if it might be sweaty in use.

The chamois looks good and the main part seems decent. The front is very thin, and together, that, and the thinness of the lycra means these don't offer the same, errr, "frontal embrace" (! ?) as other bibs I own (from Rapha, Sportful) and others I've had in the past (from Santini, Campagnolo). It results in a slightly disconcerting feeling of near-nakedness. Certainly anyone riding with you will know which way you hang, and precisely how far.

Personally I like a degree of compression in my bibs and so thicker lycra and a more snug fit. I'm going to Decathlon at the weekend and will have a look at their bibs - they have a £25 pair and some for £45. I'll try to post some comparisons afterwards.

(a heads-up - on the Decathlon website at the mo they have some size L £25 bibs reduced to £12! -

I think we should have a "peasants thread" for the people buying direct from Chinaland and then a "ponces thread" for people buying le Rapha. I only suggest this as @Shamrock will be placed into a life altering predicament as to where he belongs :p

My new kit order is now all in to Velotec and their stuff is all made in Italy so actual cycling sizes and will fit my boney arse.
The sample skinsuit they sent me was for a sponsored junior race team. That's one way to make a 30 year old MAN feel like a boy :( Even worse is that I reckon I could actually get myself into their XXS suit..... would be right tight like.
