A car manufacturer you will never buy?

Ha. Literally swapped my citroen DS3 for a VW golf today. Think over 6 years the frenchy had around £5k worth of fixes done to it... I'm outta there!

My Parents just sold a DS3. I only rode in it a couple of times but I remember the wind noise was horrific at 70+ mph.

I'd never buy anything French, any Fiat or Vauxhall.

I've always been a big Honda fan but they seem to have gone down hill recently, I don't like the new Civic Type R at all. Hope they sort it out. Any Nissan that I'd ever be able to afford looks dull and boring so they are off the list, unless I can afford a GTR.

If you haven't driven one, then go do so immediately and report back with effusion.

If you have, you're going on ignore for mongness. :)
Sounds like a review is in order. Honda are a special company I agree. French cars I recognise the comments on build quality but never say never though

You're 100% right you no buy one you buy three...:p:D

as I had three of these over the years...:o

my neighbour had one, cd factor of .26 right. I always liked the look of them, even sounded good with a blown exhaust :D no idea if they are great to actually drive. Theres an arguement for owning anything that old, that everything that could go wrong already got taken care of pretty much but that idea is a bit hit and miss

Since I got bored tonight, I collated the information collected.

By brand, the top 10 disliked are:
Vauxhall with 24
Peugeot with 16
Citreon with 13
Audi with 10
JLR with 10
Renault with 10
BMW with 6
Mercedes with 5
Fiat with 5
Skoda with 4

For people who voted by country, rather than manufacturer:
French with 23
German with 3
Italian with 2
Japanese with 2
Korean with 2
Chinese with 1
American with 1

All very interesting, the Vauxhall result surprises me because there are so so many on the road!!

Nissan, their transmissions are junk, the one in my rogue went at 120000 and a guy at work has a 2017 with 28000 and his just went too.

Had one as a hire car in May so could move from casually disliking them to specifically hating them. Everything about it was poor, even the obvious things like can you reach the handbrake, is the wheel nice to hold, can you use 2nd gear...

Sorry but I have to disagree. The transmission in my GTR is an incredible piece of engineering.

Well, hopefully it doesn’t fail as it would be a rather expensive fix!

I Just paid Trust ford last week to replace a failed gearbox bearings in my mother 2011 mk2 Ford KA that done 26,000miles....

Which model was it ? Was it bottom of the line ? I have noticed with the Astra K the lower end models are not as nice or comfy with lower end materials used. I have an Elite Nav and it’s much nicer and comfy inside with decent spec.

Mokka X...don't suppose Enterprise paid for much spec wise. At least it was better than the ancient Aygo they gave me at first.

I haven't driven one and have no doubt that it drives well. This is purely on looks, it's horrible and massive compared to the old Civics. I owned 2 x EG6 and 2 x Integra DC2, UK and JDM. The EK9 looked nice, though a bit gutless, even the FN2 looked nice, then they peaked with the FD2.

I wouldn't touch mini again, had a 2013 cooper s and nothing but problems, dealership was worse than useless booking the car in for work and then two days later they hadn't even started!

Ford I probably wouldn't go near again either, I was a big ford fan but their aftersales customer service and the way they handle recalls is just horrendous. Poor Focus RS deserved more.
