Yeah I've got a bit of clearance but not a horrendous amount. From looking at pictures they should fit pretty snug. If they don't I'll just return them. Thanks

Ass saver is obviously easier but only gives you 20% coverage whereas Raceblades give much more. I used Raceblade Long/XL's for several years on my Giant Defy 1 2015 with really tight clearances. Great guards, far far far better than the more expensive Giant specific 'speedshields' (which I tried 2 iterations of).
It's an ironic name, as the ass saver might save about 4% of my overall ass lol

Would I be mad to give Cervelo a big FU.

Buy a Kinesis T3, carbon fork, headset, BB and cranks (maybe £600 new).

Sell brand new R5 frameset when it arrives (RRP £3300) not sure what I’d get for it second hand?

Not sure I can cope another 3 months only being able to ride on the turbo on the TT bike.

You'd be mad berger, just get something second hand to tie you over until it comes that you can then flog on again.

Went out early this morning with rain due to fall from 10 onwards. Decided to try out my castelli alpha, with a vest underneath. Worked really well with the dual front zips kept warm enough across my body. Almost completely ruined it about 25 mins in to my ride when I had a huge moment on a tight left hander, just caught some moisture/gravel and front wheel gave way massively but then gripped up somehow. Still unsure how I stayed upright.

Carrying on my ride I then got pelted by a gritter.... I had no words. It was 9c at the time and due to rain all day today so will probably wash most of it away. And not due to go below 5 tonight so no idea what they're up to.

Oh and it's still not raining.

I was laughing to myself while reading your post about you seeing the gritters out, but https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gcp618npj#?date=2018-10-07 predicts Butser Hill is going to feel like -1C tomorrow morning in the fresh northerly wind with gusts up to ~47mph overnight!

Do I need to fit my 45Nrth Gravdals to my fatbike and ride that tomorrow? :D

This was at Southwick, no way is it going to be that cold. Butsrr is the exception being the high point..stupid waste of money by hcc.

ROFL Jonny got himself suspended by whatever that was! Guessing some late night shenanigans after he was on the sauce again... Dread to think what kids toys got abused this time! :D:eek::o:rolleyes:

Don't think I've been in this thread for almost a year, work is ruining my chances of being in the pro peloton! :p
Almost as long since you last rode? :p Welcome back - you've missed a fantastic summer! Back just in time for the miserable weather :(

And that's around 5% coverage for the rest of us lol ;)

You would be mad, but also totally understandable. See loads of people selling 'S/H' warrantied framesets as nobody can reasonably be expected to wait that long. Would you buy Cervelo again? At least they're covering it...

@ThaReaperGuy might have an R5 you can buy, he's not using his *hides* ;)

 AG2R shorts moment!

Good skills? Luck>Skill! :D

Headed out yesterday, quite late morning and things where only really just starting to warm up. 6-7 degrees but the wind was bitter coming from a northernly direction and didn't really ease up. Sun only really warming things by the time I was done but glad I choose to wear thermal shorts and windproof softshell. Only really cooked on the climbs!

Wasn't quite the route or distance I'd planned but knowing I hadn't got time for another +10 miles before being back for lunch I decided to take on my nemesis. Bredwardine hill/Arthurs stone. Allegedly the steepest tarmacked road in the West Midlands (unsure how true that still is). Steeper than all of the local 'Hill Climbs' that are ridden (and still unsure why they don't do it, maybe it's too brutal?!) :D

Some good tempo on the way out, legs feeling ok (quite rested for me) but not really that powerful. Some good sweetspot work at times which I've really lacked without much base miles this summer. Stripped a few things before the climb (toe covers, gloves & thermal cap) to avoid overheating. Settled into the stood grind and my power felt ok, even stranger was the stamina I seemed to have. Did the majority of the lower gradient seated so I was pretty empty over the top (as expected) but hadn't popped as I had figured would happen! Bit of a break at the top, munched and took some pics. Actually felt good enough to grind up the top of Dorstone before dropping down and spinning my legs out, before climbing Dorstone from the easier short side I normally miss as I tend to only ride the long side. Legs felt good again but did hold back a little to avoid cramps (and wanted to feel ok in the afternoon for home chores!). :D

Good ride, the last couple of my weekend jaunts have felt good to tackle previous climbs I challenged myself on. Neither of which I rode in 2017. Good to know that even with my reduction in mileage I've still got the power to get up them with my times similar to those in 2016 when I felt I was fitter. I've obviously trained more innate power now from some good Zwifting last winter and more recently towing the baby chariot!

*Cries in realisation*

Although I used it this weekend, however I would have completed it faster by walking!
Christ, a year without riding properly ruins you.
Was mostly in jest! Good to see you back, got to keep getting out - it's the only way to get quicker!

Didn't you use to commute? Why'd you stop? :(

Interested in how you find them and which particular ones they are. I own the Sidi Hydro and Northwave Fahrenheit but only wore winter boots a handful of times even during the snow. I've generally found merino socks, leg warmers and overshoes enough but my commute is <10 mins and I wouldn't generally ride for multiple hours in sub zero temps/torrential freezing rain anyway.

So I tried out the marigolds... I thought it was at least worth a chuckle.

One of them didn't make it out of the front door as it ripped before then. The other stayed intact but did have a tendency to ride up. Unfortunately (actually fortunately) I didn't get to test them properly as it didn't rain all that much and I didn't fancy literally smashing it through unknown standing water.

The boots were good though. No cold feet at all really. I'll be wearing them a lot more over the next few months I'm sure.

I know :p, I got my deserved share of banter yesterday as well, which made it more enjoyable but weird as it's normally the other way around!

I did and will get back to commuting soon, work got more busy, started doing more on-call, I needed a car more often and gradually got more lazy.
Eventually got to the point where bringing my bike to places was becoming a burden so eventually succumbed to just driving all the time.

Thankfully that has all eased off now, back to my normal office & on-call has been massively reduced so I can get out on weekends and commute properly.

I signed up to the Velo Birmingham as an incentive... went all out and bought the kit as well purely to get my ass into gear again!
