NASA's trip to Mars

Good job NASA, showing everyone how it's done.
When I watch/hear about things like this, I just feel like a complete cave man.

Because compared to this, I literally am just smashing two rocks together. Pausing only occasionally to pick the wax out of my ears, and wonder if I've gathered enough firewood for the coming winter.

There's these guys, then there's me. Polar opposites.

if im been totally honest ,man having stepped foot on the moon in 1969 ,i thought we would be doing much more than this half a centenary later

Just a thought can someone explain this to me please, Google says mars is 33.9 million miles away from earth, they say there streaming live at that distance lol, why does my tech struggle to stream from one room to another or in even better example to stream TV in the same room can be a nightmare at distance of 4 meters lol.

Like the moon landings I smell bull craaappp lol, rockets, space station the satellites amazing anything past this I just don't believe it happens. Just look at our technical mechanical side with in our world and how many things fail, to get something to that distance and land perfect well mmmmmmm well.

Your TV/internet doesn't use whatever ultra high frequency radio waves are used in space travel.

And yet you see other electromagnetic radiation from just over 4 times that distance every day.

A fair few mars missions were lost, the data rate from mars can be as low as 500 bits/second meaning it would take 16 hours to transmit your averave 3.5mb MP3 file back.

Interesting i hope its all true, but something deep down is not letting me believe all this that distance is just well to far lol

OMG just re googled it can be further away depending on its orbit 140 million miles

To be fair NASA spent $828.8 million on their Mars mission and you got your router free with your broadband. I also doubt you've even put a rocket into Orbit on Kerbal Space Program so you personally smelling bullcrap is about as meaningful as my opinion on who's going to win at next years Wimbledon.

because we as a species would rather spend more time, energy and money killing each other and our planet rather than increasing our understanding of the universe (and ultimatley, what it's/we are all about)

Rather than believe people on here, why don't you use google to learn about the technology they use? Even just basics about how electronics work would be a good start.

I don't mean that in a condescending manner. If something on this scale appears false to you then don't you want to learn more about it?

I saw this and right after, Focus channel showed the movie Hyam's Capricorn One.....are they trying to tell us something ????!:):)
