What watch do you wear?

My wife bought me an apple watch for my birthday, I've been wearing it but then forgot to charge it the last 3 days so been wearing my Black Bay. Prefer the Tudor tbh lol I appreciate the apple watch, but just can't see it as something to replace my real watches.

Apparently my Speedmaster is on the way, so that's cool. See what it's like when it arrives.

Re. Bremont, I'd class them in the same leagues as Oris, but the pricing puts them up there with Omega and beyond, which is where they aimed at, but don't think they're there yet. I like the watches, but for the money I'd get a rolex/pam or omega. And yes, I own a Longines Master, I am aware it's a glorified swatch watch :P

I've got a lovely 70s longines, which still runs brilliantly. Don't get me wrong, the Longines is lovely and the movement is decorated very well, but I know it's just a tarted up ETA, but I'm fine with that. Nice dress watch that was what, sub 2k cash when I got it. Replacing it for me would be an IWC, which I'm looking at at least 3 times the price.

Just do it yourself. Most places wont guarantee the water resistance of a watch after doing to so there isn't much incentive in getting someone else to do it.

I wouldn't even know where to start. :p

What model is it? Ideally you should change the case back gasket and get it pressure tested, but they're very easy to do yourself.

Edit, it's this one:

Bremont to me is like a luxury bigger brother of Christopher Ward... a new brand that is seriously overpriced and lacking in quality.

Hope this is not a poor reflection of CW - have a C60 trident pro titanium inbound for Xmas, love the understated look as a daily wear but don’t know anything about watches.

No it isn't, ignore him. I'm not a huge fan of CW but cannot argue with how much you get for the money. Good movement, titanium case, stamped case back and strong lume.

CW seem solidly built and have some nice designs, I just find them overpriced for what is essentially an upmarket fashion brand with no notable history or heritage (something that matters to me but may not to you of course).

In the end though, speaking objectively, you bought a nice watch so enjoy it. :)

Slightly higher end than say, a Daniel Wellington though, but the prices then reflect that more. A DW watch is utter tosh.

I might have bought my wife an Omega AT for Christmas... and this MIGHT have something to do with the fact that I bought myself a speedie... haha

Do I need to buy one to know it has no heritage and has quality issues?

No heritage because the brand was founded in 2002 and is only 17 years old.

Quality issues because I do my research: https://www.google.com/search?q=bre...rome..69i57.5325j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Oh and this was embarrassing... https://www.ablogtowatch.com/real-s...er-in-house-made-bwc01-london-watch-movement/

It's a gimmick brand that prices itself like an established Swiss or German brand and relies on people with little knowledge about or discerning taste with watches to support it. Because... "made in Britain, innit"? :D

God damn thats what Im talking about. Ive heard them on podcasts giving their story and the whole named after a Frenchman who's field they crashed in years and years before starting their company is all a bit retcon-ish.

I'd go Tissot, Longines, Oris or Nomos well before getting near Bremont for the money. It would still be a struggle paying half their asking price for what you can get elsewhere.
