depends on how much you want to spend i guess. intel 9700k is £100+ more expensive than the equivalent ryzen 2700x build.

I'm going to spend the next few days mulling this over. The build will probably done in January anyway so maybe worth hanging out a few days to see if any festive offers appear from OKUK.

if you're going to wait that long, might as well wait a wee bit longer - apparently amd are going to announce their ryzen 3xxx series cpus in january (soon *tm)

You are probably looking at 6 months though before they release. The Computex exhibition is at the end of May so we might (Should) get a solid release date then.

Hi guys, I thought I would join this conversation so not to start a new thread, just quick question, at the moment my system is :
Asus P8P67 Deluxe
Intel I5-2500K @ 4,5Ghz
Gigabyte GTX 970
G Skill Ripjaws 8GB dual channel kit (1600Mhz)
Power Supply : Corsair TX650

I thought its time to upgrade my system, and I was planing to buy :
I9-9900K
Asus Rog Strix Z390-E
Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16 GB (3200Mhz )dual channel kit

My question is the RAM fits for this build or is there a better choice ? Do I need a better power supply or mine is enough ? I checked with cooler master psu calculator and filled all the fields and it says 545 W it what going to use

Z390 Aorus boards or MSI. Better VRMs set up.
Plan to push 5ghz plus and do workloads then Aorus boards .

If your gaming, 9700k 8 core non HT will be just fine, HT adds about 15% performance on top

X570 is Q2 2019 . Roughly a year between each ryzen .

Haven't seen any roadmaps with boards releasing earlier . Haven't seen engineering sample yet , normally would have been good leaks by now .
