Yes and no, the reason for this is due to it all being something my generation and my parents generation disagree with (because it's tosh). It isn't going to go anywhere though, it will fester and slowly build within the 'millennial' men and women, and when their generation move up to where mine is now - and they get more of a voice, it will no longer exist in an echo chamber.Nuff said really

Hopefully the weaponisation of feminism, sexuality, genders, etc. can be left behind and people can just settle on egalitarianism. Although the "Did you know I'm a vegan?" situation doesn't give me much hope. People always want to be one-up on one another.

It just confirms the whole thing is nonsense really. There's far more oppression of women within Islam than anywhere else. But they would rather bark at what they think are easy targets, where there is unlikely to be a retaliation (random white guys).

Sure, I think that women should be recognised as equal to men in many things, but I’m not ramming it down anyone’s throat, I think that women are the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I’m no card carrying feminist.
If you read my post again, my best man wasn’t a woman, I didn't have a best man, she took a role as witness.
Had the ceremony been a regular one, bridesmaids, limos, the whole nine yards, then my New York woman friend WOULD have been my best man, and I’d have been proud to have her do the job, she’s been my platonic friend for forty years.
If you think that a man having a close, trusted, female friend is a sign of a deteriorating society, and that maybe I was brainwashed by the political class and media into welcoming her as a friend, I’d say that that speaks volumes about you.

As someone else on the thread said the original goals of feminism as largely been completed, mostly towards the end of the 90's and early 00's. Since then the favourite activity of society is to moan and complain about everything.

To gain power, of course. There's no question that they are doing it - it's now routine. The only question is why and the only answer that makes sense is the pursuit of power.
It's obvious that both groups are fundamentally opposed to each other and probably hate each other, but they both love power even more. Above all else, they are authoritarian ideologies. Presumably they both think they can destroy the other when the time comes, Night of the Long Knives style.

Denigrating women and being terrified of the Commies. It's like an episode of Mad Men but significantly less pleasing to the eye.
I think the majority of people don't value extreme feminism as necessary, the biggest battles have been fought and largely won. Having said that you still have a bit of time before society as a whole reflects the widened opportunity, I think the opening post mentioned right wing politicians as being in favour of equality of opportunity, which is broadly true in a free market sense. The issue is, a lot of the time their actions don't reflect their words, so the higher up the echelons of power you go the whiter and more male it gets. Part of that is down to the fact that people tend to surround themselves with people who mirror them, part of it is down to the fact that historically oppressed groups, whilst living in a more equal society, have a good few centuries of consolidation to catch up on, and some of it is down to the fact that 60 year old men in positions of power are likely to have a more archaic view of equality (not all of them I know!).
It's a case of society catching up with it's own progress, the ground work has been done but eliminating barriers isn't going to lead to more female CEOs, better familial balance between parents, better representation at a higher level overnight.

Women have had equal rights in all things in this country for decades now.
Because feminists use muslims as "Useful Idiots" in the fight against the majorty. They see muslims as a repressed minority and align themselves in the attempt to generate more labels in the ******-phobia machine. They either willfully ignore or are geneuinly ignorant of what the truth is with Islam and women.

A couple of issues with movements(or certainly in this country), first when a group gets what they want which usually means legislation, they find they are not always satisfied and just keep finding ways to further their already completed mission. Second they leave an idea or movement in place that future generations who may not really have any real reasons to protest, grab onto these ideas as if they were the original persecuted few.

Most of the replies to this I thought would be quite funny if they were lines from a comedy show but are actually quite scary when people think out loud like that. I mean wage equality for women "has communist undertones to it" WTF.
I think this is one of the main problems with the internet. If the TV used to be called the "idiot box". I think now the internet has to be the idiot highway.
