I want to visit the oc shop.... BUT THERES A HITCH

He probably thought you knew what you wanted which has always been the case with the majority of people who walk through the doors because they are geeks.
Did you bother to ask his advice?

This is why the last time in actually went into a PC parts store (not OC but I'd say equally as knowledgeable) I walked in with my list and spoken to the lass on the desk. Explained that this was the list I'd come up with and my total budget. She changed about 4-5 components, even adding discounts where she could and I walked out with a much better system and a greatly inflated opinion of the company.

Though this was back in 2008.

Well I didn’t just come in and say what we wanted, I said this was what I was thinking about and made it clear I was open to suggestion.

Maybe I’d just got things spot on but I was never given that impression.

Fair enough, if I'd been behind the desk I would have made suggestions unless your choice was excellent anyway and then I'd let you know.

1. Have nasty accident that only S-O-T Royal University hospital can deal with.
2. Have it nasty enough they need to send the air ambulance.
3. Sneak out or say 'I need to go to Morrissons at Milehouse for reasons' get a taxi there.
4. Sneak across the road to OCUK
5. I'm sure they don't mind people with open-back nighties on dragging a drip around shopping there.

Theres 2 guys I usually see behind the counter in the shiop.

One of em is completely useless and the one with Ginger hair and glasses is actually helpful and will think critically about something rather than try push a new un-needed power supply at me like the useless guy.

All I needed was a 6 pin power plug and the useless one kept saying we dont have any and I would need a new PSU. Ginger guy overheard us, immediately went out the back and got me one, FOR FREE.

Lol

Major Trauma Centre so check.

You have no idea how many patients we have coming by Air Ambulance to Stoke from Wales, I'm dealing with two this week and I can't count how many on the books.
However a lot do die so take that into account :(

3. Sneak out or say 'I need to go to Morrissons at Milehouse for reasons' get a taxi there.

About a month ago I read a self discharge sheet where the patient had discharged themselves to go to Subway which is in the Lyme Building in the hospital.

4. Sneak across the road to OCUK

It's a bit further than across the road.

It's Stoke (Newcastle) up by Chesterton, they get a lot worse.

i.lad i.know drove there .... managed to get help with ordering £4,000 worth of components and they built it for him. He got an amazing price to performance compared to what they were advertising for the same price as a pre built pc. also i want to try the htc vive and im interested in seeing the shop

£4K on a PC? yet you don't have a car?

A mate of mine had a rather nasty experience in one of those open backed gowns back when we had that really cold winter here in the late 90s. He was in a minors ward just off the old A&E on Princes Road and decided to sneak out onto the fire escape steps for a quick spliff (in fact the fire escape in question is still there). He made the mistake of sitting down on said metal stairs with a bare arse and had to shout for help. :D

train then stick your thumb out and wait for a hairy trucker to stop sporting a wife beater egg stained shirt and a copy of trucker wives on the dash

I pop in the shop to collect now and again because I don't live far from the shop.

Iv always found the guys on the counter at the ocuk shop struggle to interact in a professional and polite way with the customers.

I ordered a case from them about a month ago drove down to the store to collect about an hour later(thinking that would be enough time. For them to pick it) only for some cubby lad behind the counter to rant about how it wasn't ready for collection and I should have waited until I had an email confirmation to say it was ready. Needless to say it wasn't a problem for me to wait afew minutes but he seemed to find the need to say this to me.

I was with my girlfriend at the time and If it was on any other day I would have ripped his head off.

What ever happened to the customer always being right?!

1, yes, sure you would have :p

2, As somebody who worked in retail for years prior to changing career, the customer is often obnoxious, stupid,Ill informed,up themselves, arrogant and just plain wrong (amongst many others) but rarely right!

Why bother with ordering it then collection. Be easier and to turn up ad order in store.
