I want to visit the oc shop.... BUT THERES A HITCH

What ever happened to the customer always being right?!

As someone who works in a store offering collection within an hour I know how frustrating it is when people turn up before they've been called/emailed and get annoyed that it's not ready for collection.

In your case the customer isn't right and either you gave the 'chubby lad' some jip when he said it wasn't ready, or he had already experienced the grief from a previous customer and wanted to make it clear that he wasn't in the wrong.

I ordered a case from them about a month ago drove down to the store to collect about an hour later(thinking that would be enough time. For them to pick it) only for some cubby lad behind the counter to rant about how it wasn't ready for collection and I should have waited until I had an email confirmation to say it was ready. Needless to say it wasn't a problem for me to wait afew minutes but he seemed to find the need to say this to me.

I was with my girlfriend at the time and If it was on any other day I would have ripped his head off.

I was under the impression that when ordering for collection it informs you to wait for an email before you can collect, why didn't you do this?

As for ripping the guy head off... What a big man you must be, congratulations.

Can't see it on the order confirmation email about waiting until its ready for collection.

I seem to recall visiting the shop quite some time back in two different places so presumably they moved? The one I recall most was in a business park complex, down a long corridor ,is that where it is now?
I expected it to be a shop where you could walk around the shelves stocked with goodies but of course it's not. It's just a counter from which you order what you want.

Only done it once but this is the email once the item is ready:

Thank you for your order, it is now ready for collection from our store in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Please remember to bring the credit or debit card used to pay for the order and a suitable form of photo id (Students Union card, Driving license (including provisional) or Passport).

When you arrive at our store please don't be afraid to jump the queue, just let our staff know you have an order ready for collection and they will quickly confirm your details and give you your products.

So you clearly don't understand then that you're not the only customer that OCUK have and things take time to do then?

It would have made sense to at least ring to confirm it was ready to collect rather than merely expecting it to be. To feel the need to rip someone's head off over your own mistake is a joke to be honest.

That was Imex Business Park 400 yards from my house and that was their third one on that site (they went up in size).
The first one was only called Millennium and the second shop did change it's name to Overclockers for a while.

My mistake? When there's nothing on the email confirmation to say there will be a second email to say its ready for collection?

What ever happened to prioritising work, sure I understand they have other orders to pick but when a customer is in the shop waiting they should quite easily prortise with no hassle regardless about an email I should receive which was never mentioned on the order confirmation.

Am I really reading this :)

Would never have happened with Pete and and Millennium Computers, right?

Absolutely not because he was old world and it was Mark that bought the future like emails :)
I'm going to order something from Argos outside the shop and then walk in to pick it up and then moan when it isn't ready for me.
"Well priortise bitches".

You misunderstood, I wasn't bothered about waiting, it was the fact that he wanted to rant to me about it rather than get on with the job at hand.

If you look at my original post it clearly says I wasn't bothered about waiting a few minutes.

You say that but then mention wanting to rip his head off if your girlfriend wasn't there? Not really a sign of not being bothered is it now?

And I doubt he was ranting himself but merely explaining why you would have to wait for a bit.

You clearly have unrealistic expectations.

I get the impression CAPS was probably embarrassed by being told he did a slight oopsie in front of his girlfriend. I imagine -instead of ripping the store guys head off - he wouldn't have had any problem if his girlfriend wasn't there. If anyone in this thread feels they were treated wrongly, I suggest you make a formal complaint instead of taking up a virtual boxing stance on the community forum. Not only will it be less embarrassing for you, but it will actually get through to the right people.

To be fair if they state to wait for a confirmation email before collecting it's probably a tad annoying when people ignore that, especially during busy times. Think I would have just sat in the car checking email until the confirmation came through to collect it and then legged it inside :).
Visited the store of a competitor quite a few times years ago and often the place was chaotic - very busy.

I went to the shop JUST to smash someones face in, but they are all hard geeks so I left after cleaning up a bit and saying thanks a lot.
