Latest Gillette ad suggests their customers are broken, toxic and need "fixing" through feminism

due diligence, despite the size of his font, maybe not an Imam/insider though - https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Mohammad_Tawhidi
Mohammad Tawhidi (1982/1983–), also known as Imam Tawhidi or Imam of Peace, is an Iranian-Australian useful idiot for islamophobes and racists alike. He self-proclaims as an imam (Muslim religious leader) with an educational background of prestigious Iranian Shia-Islamic seminary, but such credentials are only backed by Daily Mail and MEMRI articles and his status is never recognized by the Australian National Imams Council or its South Australian equivalent.[1][2][3] Unfortunately, this places him as an insider with knowledge who exposes the "dark side" of Islam.

... Never mind proctor & Gamble are backing cheerleaders

2018 Procter & Gamble (P&G) has renewed its sponsorship of the National Football League (NFL), according to SportsBusiness Journal’s Terry Lefton.
The parent company of Gillette, Febreze and scores of other consumer goods brands will continue to align with the league for another five years, after quietly renewing its deal ahead of last Sunday’s Super Bowl. - 2018

So would you be happy with an advert targeted at muslims based on some muslims being terrorists etc.. or an advert aimed at black people based on some black people being gang members, drug dealers etc.. ?
id love it. Factually true in every way :)

I guess we probably need to accept that this sort of thing is the future:

Everyone needs to keep generalizing everything or this news gets too boring too fast. Thrown in a handful of buzzwords at your enemy, depending on which side you virtue signal for today.

see? perfect!

Gillette are not really first in the UK, if this add was, at all, targetted at UK vs USA -
HSBC/LLOYDS/Barclays already, annoyingly, on that bandwaggon, with 'messages' othorgonal to their business ... can't they all be a bit more subtle, utilise comedy ?
why the dumbing down of the communication ... if Carlsberg did #metoo

...

I am surprised the brexiteers are not bouycotting/protesting below folks -
why do the banks thing they can conjour this cuddly image, as lloyds and barclays are also attempting

Head into thread, see the names I expected making pretty much exactly the comments I expected from them.

Excuse me?

Are you profiling individuals on this forum?

That is discriminatory and I request you cease at once.

I guess we probably need to accept that this sort of thing is the future:

OOOOOFFFFF

That's a straight no and a yikes from me dawg.....

Honestly don't see the issue with that ad... a little poorly directed and heavy handed with it's message? Sure. But the message itself is a pretty good one I'd say. Don't be a bullying, misogynistic *****.

The message of "Don't be a Jerk" is in itself not the problem. But it's the execution, tone and inappropriateness of it that got everyone railed up.

Why do companies like this get into political issues? Do they not realise that they will alienate a lot of customers? Just sell you Razors to as many people as possible.

This original Gillette ad is really good actually. If they made one similar they would have got more customers I think.

I guess advertising has pretty much been built around virtue signalling for the last couple of decades. I think it's possibly gone too far when you accuse your customer base of being predominantly comprised of mysoginists and sexual predators though!
