PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

It won't wash!

Hmmm.

I've hit the top 1000 (319) according to op.gg, but have had the sudden realisation that in the actual game you only get top ranked 1000 *after* you have hit 6000 rating.... which is going to be a right pain in the bottom.

Bitter sweet happy or what.

Just spam games. All that is needed for a high "rank"
It gets harder the higher you go because you get less points. There was one spammer on there who had 7000 games, I have 351 so I think, comparably, that I'm much better than him. Mind you, It looks like they have started banning the folk on the leaderboards who are doing that.

You have to remember that you're rank fighting with other people who also play a lot, so whoever is a better player and playing a good amount of games... the person who is better will be ranked higher.

I don't want to sound offensive or put your ranking under threat - but this conversation has been had quite a few times.

The ranking system is very broken - the more games you play - the more points you get.
You don't get to play games with better people, which can be seen by checking each games: "overall status" on pubg.op.gg, the players you are playing against are still the same old players, that are in every match. So it just comes down to playing as many matches as you can, to climb the leaderboards. I really wish they would fix it and make it more competitive, I'd consider putting effort into getting a higher rank then!

Whats your in-game name anyway? Sorry if it's been mentioned before, but I'd like a sneaky stalk. :D

Yes, I know this... I'm not suggesting that you face better players, I'm saying that the higher you get, the more you have to work for your points, because you get less points for the same actions the higher rating you are.

Obviously the more games you play the more points you get, but you are facing (within the leaderboards, not in an actual games) other people who are also playing a lot. So, lets say two people play 100 games one person drops into the middle and does nothing and gets 1 point for the game so 100 points... the other person plays the game and gets kills and wins, this person will get a lot more than 100 points over the 100 games.

Now we take two people who both play 100 games for the kills and wins... whoever is the better player will get more points and be higher on the leaderboards. *yes* they are both playing a lot thus getting points because they do, but whoever is the better player will get higher in the leaderboards. Op.GG ranks you on your overall play, not just rating... there are guys around me with 500 more ratings but worse play stats.

I'm not saying I'm anything special and accept that If I was not putting the time in I would not be ranked, but you have to also accept that its against other people who are also putting the same time in, which levels the playing field somewhat.

I didn't play solo last season so I'm going hard on it this season.

In game name is "Lei_Ying_Lo" just shy of 3500 and gulping at the thought of needing to get an extra 2500 rating to actually get really ranked.... that is a lot of play time in the next 5 weeks... with solid, consistant level of play that I don't know if I can achieve - I either have to get better at playing (but trying new things could lead to a dip in consistency) or put more games on the clock, but I'm not time rich enough to play more than 10-15 games a day. Even if I were it would drive me bonkers!

I'm not about to reach for the adderall, pay for personal cheats or hire an elf to play while I sleep - so I guess its time to chill out, play better and enjoy the ride, see what happens.

I see what your saying and understand where your coming from. It's the old gamer and competitiveness in you, trying to keep up the top of the leaderboards, while others are racing you too. It's something to aim for every game you play, this is what got me through the premium pass challenges, well, almost... I have 2 left on dropping Cosmodrome and get a kill, which I hate dropping, as it's a stupid area with stupid loot and stupidly open. Can you tell I hate it? :p

Good luck though dude, it'll be interesting to see where you end up at the end of the season.
The thing I'll be aiming for next season... since this season has been ruined by challenges (thats what I tell myself anyway), is to get my headshot % much higher. It was ruined by it taking me 2-3 times trying to get the 300 rounds of Uzi rounds used in a single game.

Aiming for a 30% headshot percentage should mean it will make all my stats go up, since I'll be winning more fights, surviving longer, causing more damage and potentially winning more games. It's a tough but a tricky one at the same time.

yeah i go third person to do mine missions. also a lot easier than first so makes it fun. nearly one a game playing mostly one handed in third yesterday eating bacon sandwiches :p

Hey thanks man - you get it - Respect.

Have you tried landing at the end of the cut next to the rocket, loot under it, then above it? Its close to one of the under ground passages entrances as well as the cut, with healthy cover from all angles above ground.

Good luck with your headshots. This season I think I'll burn out around 5000 rating... have a little holiday... then come back for a last 2 week challenge of hitting 6000 for the 'chute skin before season end. Next season will play less for fun in squads... :D

For all us try die hards.. we are the best!
